Well pretty self explanatory in the title. You have a nice S13 hatchback and want to do a conversion, would u go S13 or S15 Silvia. I'd be undecided, S13 is cheaper and looks real nice, but S15 also looks nice when done cleanly and looks different then most cars on the road. And no, S14 front would'nt be an option.

Me, if I had to chose between those two. I would go with the S13 Silvia conversion. It looks like it actually belongs on the car. Also it will be a lot cheaper, and easy to install. Sure, the S15 conv would look nice if done properly, but its not an S15. IMO, since you have a fastback(good choice) just make it a 180SX or somethin.

Here are some other reasons, not to get . I personally think it looks ugly, maybe if the lights were aligned with the edge of the hood???

EDIT: I said "when done right" now quit trying to taint the voting. -ca18guy

Well, why would you make an s15 convo? Is there a name for that in Japan? On the other hand if you do an s13 front, you'll have a sil-080

I don't know if you see s13 convos often. I only saw it once and never say an s15 convo (i know a guy who is doing it but he ain't finished yet). IMO, s13 convos on old 240s look much nicer than s15s on newer 240s.....

yes there is a name for it in Japan ichi go which sounds like the Japanese word for Strawberry hence the conversion being called a Strawberry Face or sil-1580 which is sil ichi go 80, IIRC
anyways Strawbery face conversions on RPS13's are just dope IMHO I have seen both the regular sil80 and the 1580 and the 1580 looks right because the rounded sloping hood and headlights of the S15 match the flow of the body on the RPS13. In my opinion the standard sil80 looks as wrong as the Onevia i.e. the American 240sx coupe . the coupe does not have the body lines to support the sloped bumper of the 180sx that Nissan stuck on it because the Silvia bumper was not DOT legal and the 180sx bumper was.

anyways I think I went into more detail than was necessary. Wheres Aya when I need her?

Not only is the s13 style old skool, but the s15 front end just does not fit on an s13. It's too wide...

I think the S15 looks good only only on the S15, something just doesnt look right about it on the S13's. THe sil80 conversion looks nice, but for the fastbacks I think the pop up headlights suit the car the best.

never heard of a Sil1580...from what i hear and read a 180sx can have any kind of silvia front [s13, s14 s14a s15] and that would make it a Sil80..Sil coming from the Silvia line of cars..and 80 from the 180sx. so wat do u call a 180sx with s14a headlights? Sil14a80? [haha]..so yea..in Super Street they had a 180sx wtih S15 headlights and it was still called sil80 not sil1580

If I remember correctly, Super Street called it Sil180 rather than Sil80 ("Sil eighty"). Can't rely on Super Street. Yes a 180SX with an S15 front end is a Sil1580, or just "fifteen eighty".

IMO the 1580 doesn't look right. Maybe I haven't seen one done right but the front looks too wide for the back. A big head and small ass doesn't look right on anything

It depends on which 180sx I had. =) I'm going for the S13 Sileighty because I am in love with the non-projectors, and don't particularly like the S15 nose.

From a design standpoint, I think the S15 front end belongs on a kouki 180sx more than the PS/S13 front, which is more suited to the quad round taillights. OTOH, the PS13 front is squared and flat, matching nicely with the Zenki and chuki RPS13/RS13 taillights, which are squared and more blocked.

So yeah: S15 front if you have kouki 180sx tails, and S13 front if you have zenki/chuki 180sx tails. I like S13 non-projector front.

edit: BUT I'm keeping my 180sx front. I love it.

I have to say S13, I saw an RPS13 with the S15 conv. and it just looked awkward and disproportioned. The S15 is just a lot wider, so it looks funny.

I personally am a fan of the pop-up lights on the 240, i just think it gives the car very nice lines, if i had to chose between the 2 though, i would have to do the sil80, just cause despite how nice the s15 front end is, it just doenst fit the car as a whole.
