This is for anyone who has a faulty guage cluster. In my 96 S14 the Speedo and Tach both failed miserably. I've heard of people digging through everything. I've looked at a lot of the wiring on my car too. Turns out it's just the circuit boards or motors in the cluster that fail. I have a SE model (white faced guages) but I've had a black faced cluster just sitting in my room. I ended up ripping them both apart and using the black faced clusters circuit boards and motors with the white faces on them. Everything works wonders now. Speedo is correct and works all the time instead of when I smack the dash, haha. and the tach reads right where it should with no bouncing or just staying at 1k. If anyone else has had this problem check that first! I don't know if you can buy the parts for the cluster or just buy another cluster but replace it first. I'm gonna look at the broke ones and see if I can fix them. I'll keep you all updated. Hope the info helps!
