I thought MCR used red primarily? Or is that just on their GTRs?

M.C.R. and MCR Factory are different shops actually. But yes, I do think M.C.R. primarily ran with that vivid red. This Cosmic Gray Mica (1H2) looks really great, maybe going with this when the time comes for new paint.

probably a lame AF question, but does anyone know exactly what oem color this is? I've looked through that list of oem 240 colors, and can't seem to find one that is this silver-gray color.
Did someone just paint this s15 gray? what silver/gray is this, as I might be interested in it or other oem silvers and grays. |

Since that is a Zenki 180sx, if it is an OEM color it would be #KG1 Platinum Blue Metallic. Often times when that color is sun exposed it loses its blueish tint and becomes more silver. Paint looks to be in good condition however so it might just be a repaint of another color.
Here is #KG1 with some sun exposure: Late model Kouki 180sx received an OEM silver color #KL0.

Hey guys. Had the shittiest prior paint job on the car. Paint was flaking, single stage, piss poor. etc.
If you're curious: Omni products BC/CC Garage job'd Devilbiss Finishline III 35 gal. compressor with water/air separator. Heres after full respray. Looks amazing. Still have some more work to do before I get full car photos. The whole car was like this................. After probably, 200 hours: Pin stripe masked the faded grey, shot black, pulled tape, shot clear. |

It sucked. In case anyone is ever buying paint, Do NOT buy Omni MBC unless its a plain-Jane non metallic/pearl/candy. basically watered down piss garbage. Were talking 10 coats for coverage. Last edited by Jorgs_7; 07-18-2016 at 03:26 PM.. |

Yeah Omni base sucks. Sherwin williams/ martin senour probase is good for the money. Even reds cover nicely.

I used a lighter grey sealer. Which was a horrible idea. It was the only sealer that was in stock. I should have just used black epoxy primer. Either way, still just piss water. I'm pretty frustrated and repainted the whole thing. Approaching 5 GALLONS of paint at this point. Almost done (thank god). Helluva learning experience but made 2 major mistakes. This was my first paint job, let alone shooting real paint/2 part clear. 1) light color sealer 2) "economy" line of a rich metallic paint. (still 240$ / gallon) The finished product so far is great, but 10-12 coats was/is an absolute fucking mess. Wish I painted the car black ... :/ |

Well it looks good for your first job. A black sealer would have made a world of difference for coverage. I like Southern Polyurethane's Epoxy primer (also use it as a sealer). Good value goes great with just 1 wet coat. $240 for 4 quarts of metallic blue base is super cheap.
