Donations have been really slowing down. Our goal is still $10,000 but I'm debating whether we should just cut it short and donate what we have. The money is not doing anybody any good just hanging out with me.
We are currently at $7412.22 after paypal fees. If you have any suggestions or advise please feel free to email or PM me. |

Bumping this old thread once again. Whatever happened with this?
Also, +1 for people not getting their stickers. My buddy never got his despite pm's, emails, and emails to his buddy Henry. (who replied, saying he forwarded it to Yuta) In the end it's a donation anyway and not about the stickers, but did the donation ever really happen or did we all just end up paying for some stickers that some of us never got? Basically we need an update methinks. |

That's what I mean. If the money went towards the cause that's one thing, at least it went to the right place, but if everyone just "effectively" purchased some stickers, AND many never got them, then that's a fail all around.

Hello, sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.
Every sticker that was ever donated for was sent out in the mail. I have sent out close to 500 replacements stickers to those who never received their sticker(s), and since there is no way to confirm delivery i have been sending them out based on the "honor system". I am aware that several never got to the donator because of emails, facebook messages, etc. and because 15-20 envelopes keep coming back despite them being sent to the provided address. All the money has been donated. I had big plans on what to do with the money initially, my goal was $10,000. I planned to contact larger Japanese corporations as soon as we had that and hope that they would match our donation, I hoped that perhaps we could get $100,000 over to Japan if we got enough companies to match. but... I realize that this is me just being lame as a person but I just got sick of it. The paypal account got "hacked" twice, both times resulting in all the money we had being wiped out (paypal was able to gt it back both times). The Gmail account is still inaccessible. People were filing claims on paypal, which is totally understandable and i truly am sorry anybody felt ripped off, but please try to understand i was doing this by myself. Donations tapered off at around $7500, people lost interest, i couldn't bring my self to keep pushing it to try and get more donations. So i ended it early. I opened up a new account at my bank, linked up the paypal to it, withdrew all the money and brought it to the Consulate General of Japan office. I guess i just couldn't handle the heat, i figured that there would be a few naysayers or disgruntled people simply because we were dealing with so many different people. I just want to say this once: I sent out every sticker that was ever donated for. I donated the money to the Consulate General of Japan. I personally donated around $1000 in vinyl, gas, postage. I will keep sending out stickers to people who didn't receive theirs. So i would like to try something different for sending out replacement stickers, with the email being useless, i want to propose something that would help me quite a bit, anybody who didn't receive their stickers could you please send a self addressed envelope to: 1265 N Chrisden St. Apt. Q105 Anaheim, Ca, 92807 With a memo of the desired color(s) on the back of the envelope please. I will continue to pay for the postage on the envelope going back to you. And if you would like, i am willing to refund the 45 cents it cost to mail the envelope to me, in which case, please write your paypal address next to the color(s). Please try to spread this info around if you have any friends who also did not receive a sticker. Thank you and I am sorry not everybody is happy with how this turned out. |

Thanks for the update man. I'm sorry if I came off like a douche when I originally bumped this thread, I thought at first that you were avoiding this thread purposely. I didn't want to believe that but it seemed that way at first.
Glad to know things were carried out properly and the money ended up in the right place. |
