Nissan 180sx Engine Problem - Video Inside
Hey Zilvia!
Ive been having this problem for a while now, finally getting serious with fixing it now that I am finished modding the car and its coming outta storage. It ran good one night till i hit full boost and then it felt like boost cut, then it shut down to 2000rpm and wouldnt go above that. I drove it home and parked it. Its been 5 months and I finally wanna drive it again, I put in a new intercooler with t bolts so boost leaks seem to be outta the question for that. It used to bog and die at idle but that seems to be a dissipating issue, it now bounces off 2000rpm or 1500rpm or somewhere low, when the car warms up. But when the car is cold, it revs fine. The 2nd problem arises when i try and drive it, the throttle response seems VERY laggy, and boost is "shakey" like its hitting boost cut, one minute itll be not doing anything then the next it will hit full boost and go like hell. I dont understand, I tightened the throttle cable and put in a aftermarket MBC, and set it for zero. So stock boost should be achieved. (It did the same thing before the MBC) Any ideas on how to test out different things? It seems like coilpacks to me but the warming up thing confuses the f*** outta me! Anybody have this issue? How did you fix it!!! I apologize for the wind, its the Prairies and i was videoing in 35km/h winds. Thanks for any help you guys can throw my way! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBf1ISoyJBw Last edited by maxtrbo93; 05-15-2011 at 08:52 PM.. Reason: youtube link |

Check ECU for Codes, Sounds like CTS is bad
When the CTS goes bad the car runs good when cold but runs crappy when warmed up. Also if you shut off the car when warmed up and try to start it again it will take a few cranks to get it to fire up
