What do you mean by lots of horsepower? If you want something that spools up fast, look into an HKS 2530 but it's not going to give you LOTS of horsepower, you're going to want something bigger for that.

you should get a t3/t88 hybrid. i hear they spool really fast and can make huge hp, sound perfect for you.
sorry, had to do it. you gotta be more specific as to what horsepower you want, and how fast you expect it to spool. Don't just come here and say i want a fast spooling high horsepower turbo. so do I. I would also like a million dollars. and searching cant hurt.

The GT30R would be what I would go with if price was no object. Its $1375 USD just for the turbo and then you would need a manifold with a t3 flange and custom piping.

did you just say CHEAP, jun and hks in the same sentence. you must be crazy. ok but on a serious note, do you really want 800hp on a street car. if its full out drag then i understand. but i think a realistic goal would be 400-500hp at the most on a street car. you could have alot of fun with that. if you had 800hp you would never be able to use it really. just thinking practical, don't really know what your goals are.

Any turbo can be made to work with any motor...but not necessarily well. What are your goals with all this power? Honestly, that T88 will make your car really slow in any gear except 5th. You will not even spool until almost redline, and then you'll have about 1000 rpm before fuel cut. If you're just trying for big numbers, then fine, go for it. But if you want something FAST, get a turbo that is matched for the torque curve of the motor. It amazes me how many people want turbos that are simply way too big for their car.

For instance, my buddy has a CRX with a built B16. It's turbocharged and he runs street tires and normal gas. For a while, he had a Greddy 18g in it, and yes, it was fast on the freeway...100-140 was REALLY fun. But around town it was a biatch because it almost NEVER boosted, and he got spanked by me in my SR20DET from 0-50 all day long...and that's with a stock T25.

He ran 13.4s with the 18g and he's since switched back to a T28 and is running 13.5s in the 1/4 now. He's making 40 LESS fwhp, but he's almost as fast because the power curve is more manageable.

Is any of this making sense?

An extra .2 liters is not enough to spool a T88, just so you know. A T88 barely spools on a built Supra.

Yes, any turbo can be made to fit on a motor, and any turbo will push some air into your motor...but think about what you're really getting yourself in to.

Eric

Get soemthing like TD06-18g, 20g or even 25g. Mitsu and greddy make them (same thing, they are all mitsu.) It normally kicks in at about 3000 rpm. It can handle about 350-400 hp and that should be more than enough for a street car. Not too $$$ if you wanna get about 300 hp. But to get over that, you have to put up some more cash.

Try a turbo like a GT28 from Heavy Throttle/Forced Performance or a t28/23 hybrid. Those should have an ideal effect, although they don't support 800whp, more like 380. You should have more than enough fun on the street with 340-350 whp, trust me.

HKS GT2835

What do you guys think about this?
Compressor Side Exhaust Side
HKS GT2835 56 trim .50 a/r 84trim .64a/r

plus it is internal wastegate and T-25 flange so it could save some money.
Anyone know how good or bad this turbo is on our SR
Thanx a lot

T-25 is basically your stock turbo for the SR..making a shade over 200hp....it can be modded to go more but for serious HP you would need to look into a more robust turbo. Their is boucoup information with the search button and a search. Try not to open any old dynosaur threads back up by posting in them...rather if you cannot find the specific info....start a new post. Running around 10-12LBS seems to give good power..but since I am not running an SR, I have to go on others direct experience.

With our cars balance 300 to 350HP is about as far as you would ever need to go unless you were into drag racing.

The CA is also a formadable engine CA18DET..Secret services has obtained over 400HP with one..and the RB is the real baddboy engine to have..RB25det, RB25dett and yes they both fit as well.

here are some options

s-14 t-28 ball bearing
s-15 t-28 balll bearing
gtir t-28 non ball bearing

those are good for decent hp 300 or so

my choice is the hks gt3037 u can use the stock manifold but i think u need to wastegate it but no biggie... 400 plus hp heres the specs

HKS GT3037 - 420/440/470 PS Output

COMPRESSOR:
-Wheel- 48/52/56 Trims - 52.8/55.0/57.0 Inducers / 76.2 Major
-Housing- 70 Inlet / 50 Outlet - 0.60 A/R

TURBINE:-Wheel- 84 Trim - 60.0 Major / 55.0 Exducer
-Housing- GT25 inlet / External GT30 outlet; 0.61, 0.73, 0.87, 1.01, 1.12 A/R

either way hks gt series turbos are nice but if money is tight run the nissan t-28 turbos.

s-15---600ish
s-14----500ish
gtir-----300ish

the gtir is less to rebuild if it goes bad couse it not ball bearing,

i have one on my car now (rebuld kit is 150.00$) and its enought for me at least for now. ryan

Despite this being super old can we all agree Disco Potato is the greatest turbo ever made? Simply because of the name.

Lore claims that the name has something to do with the origin of the vehicle,
