my loans fund my car... what evear.. i mean they get it back anyways...
plus they just give it away to ppl who are to lazy to get jobs.... must we remind you of welfare. atleast the 80% of us who do use loans to mod cars are helping to stimulate the economy. lol

I'm actually interested to see what you're going to do. This will be a build for the history books considering the condition the car was in when you bought it so good luck to you bruce.

sorry for the delay, the rain put me on hold for while, fuck rain
anyways, im done working on the shell, and working on bumpers now. this was yesterday, bumpers were ready to shoot, so i gave them a coat last night and when it was curing, IT FUCKING LIGHT SHOWER FUCKED IT ALL UP!!!!!!, the bumpers were ruined!!! i didnt want to deal with it, so i called it a night. this morning when i took a look, i knew it was going to be a bitch!! sanded all morning and pretty much had to start over, not to mention the wasted materiels. eventually i got back from the brink, cleaned them and gave it a coat, here they are well, got to get back to work, BTW, this IS NOT THE PRIMER, THIS WAS GOING TO BE THE FINIAL COLOR, BUT I WANT SOMETHING A LIL DARKER, im going to compliment the grey with some flat black lmk what u think, later |

you know.......................... my car once looked like this, stripped and primered, all that jazz. i think i was telling kevin the other day that the difference between a successful project and a shitty one isnt so much in the cost of the project, its in the planning. seriously, a few screws here, a fuel filler door, reverse light gaskets... like if you actually take the time to do the job RIGHT, use the right materials, you'de actually get a pretty decent job. INSTEAD, you chose to leave OE pinstriping tape, reverse light foam gaskets which literally ALL peel off... and for what? you're doing near the same amount of work and getting shitty results because you're painting in front of your house in the open yard. im sure the shit is illegal, and its low class, and in the end you get nothing but a shitty results with home depo primer. i dont even know what to say. keep up the good work and lets see how pretty this is when its all done. good luck... seriously, good luck. |

hmm. lol i cant stand that gloss primer color. I have seen a few stock cars that color it it throws me off, shiny primer. ewww. And yea your halfassing some stuff, but that whats makes professionals just that, and you a guy in your yard. SO keep it up!
And yea its illegal. Letting VOC's just fly around a nieghborhood without filtering is something the EPA would frown upon. But i have seen some very good paint jobs from a yard. You just gatta have the right day. A hot day right after a rain is a good one. Low pollen and dust and just sand out the imperfections, even booths have shit flying around in them.

rusteloum is not a good base for paint later on...... idk why u would say that? completely arnt the same company or product. Never mix and match paints/ products unless u have enough experience to know what works. For those who want to save money. Like the op, use a single stage uranthane paint. Let it cure, prep it with 600-100 grit and lay at least 1-2 wet coats of hs clear and your good. Benifits, you get the shine and gloss of a 2 stage and the durability of a single stage paints against uv damage and oxidation. Oh yeah, it is illegal to spray outside. Idk what ur laws says but here in my county in norcal, your only allowed to spray 9sqft of paint outside or else u need a epa approved booth.

ok
lets do this shit..... let me say that i agree with most of you about the glossy primer, its ok but it looks too weird, i wanted something darker, so i picked up some more rustoleom paint, here are the results first coat, some shit was in paint or something, cuz there was alot of dust after it dryed , felt rough in some areas, got some 400 grit sand paper-got to work. second coat was much better, all was good, on goes the third- here ya go well, lets see how it turns in the morning, CHEAP MOFO OUT- |
