laguna seca idea
hello my fellow friends... how many of you would be intrested in a drift session in the paddock of laguna seca?? since i work at skip barber racing school in laguna i could try to get a good price on the paddock or even the track it self... but i know if we want to get the track and the paddock with everything else like flagers and clean crew it will cost about 20,000.. so if there is a good amount of people like 50 or so paying about 200 we could get the track... but i dont know about the paddock... it might cost a lil under 10,000. so if there is enough people that are willing to do this i could go and ask and try to get this all possible..
Cole

Shoot I'm down for Laguna Seca. Let us know where, when, and all the details. I'm sure you can get a shit load of Zilvia Members there. You can even get a little extra for charging like $5 for spectators.

yeah, 200 bucks might sound alot to some, but to others, it's great, especially that downhill-corkscrew-where-alot-of-people-will-screwup-but-will-have-fun-doing-so-section,
step away from gt3 and go out do the real thing. Super! |

Laguna is way too dangerous to drift on but the paddock area would work. I like the earlier suggestion of a grip event on the track and a drift area in the paddock. Maybe charge different rates for each group. I'm sure you can get a lot of non-drift people to pay for the grip session from other clubs etc. $200 for Laguna Seca is a pretty good price but with more cars you can bring that price down. 2-3 rotating run groups of 15-25 cars each would have plenty of track time for the grip group. I'd be down. |

ok this is what i heared from my boss.. i get a discount price on the track or the paddock.. so i really dont know about the real price on it... and we cannot do anything unless we have someone with insurance... so if anyone has insurance contact me... ummm what else... all i know is that to rent everything track paddock and all the safty things clean up crew would be between 15,000 - 25,000 with cash up front.. so i dont think 200 a head is alot... most people would pay more to race or even drive on this famous track... also most likly it would be on a weekday but i will see what there scedule is... so remember i need some one that has insurace so holla back =P

Laguna Seca usually costs around $300 for a day, so $200 would be a good price. Driving the track and drifting in the paddock would probably work out best. I doubt they'd let anyone drift on the course. Laguna Seca is pretty strict. Also they have a very strict sound policy. Better have a quite exhaust or a turndown.
