If you had the chance to trade your 240SX in for a 300ZX well maintained but you had to continue payments on it for another year or year and a half would you?

Insurance isn't an issue with me so... If it's a well maintaned (not many left it seems that are well maintained) and it is a twin turbo then yes I would trade. I'm biased though since I would own one if i was'nt living in England for a few years.

I wouldn't think twice about it. of course a 300 ZX is my dream car. I would have to go TT though, and I would take into consideration the miles, condition, etc. but of course I would take the Z.

i don't think i would. 300zx's have a bad image here. plus, I have a problem with buying a used-turboed car. maybe if i new the owner. then again, i have a problem with buying a used car from anyone under 40.

Hmm... as much as I love my car, I'd have to say yes, I've always wanted a 300zx

I'd take the engine if it was a 300zx TT, then put it in my car ^^.

There is a 240sx on ebay that has a 300zx engine with a bunch of mods and it's going for 20k

I really don't know I love my car so much that 300zx is just a faster version like a father of a 240SX but I'd rather stick with my 240SX because I know how its been driving and I can't trust someone who is selling a 300ZX right now, unless they are like 75 yrs of age...If I had a 300ZX and I was selling it, it would be because I dogged the crap out of it and didn't want it anymore other than that I think my 240 is fine...Anyone else still wouldn't mind trading their 240 for a ZX?

the 240sx is more economical, and easier to work on, cheaper to work on too. you just can't go out to the 300, lift the hood and wrench away like you would with the 240. if you got money to burn, go for the twin turbo. and i don't know about these other towns, but here, the Z is not played out, and is way more rare than a 240sx. the Z may weigh about 3400 pounds, but it has the power to back it up.

here's my friend's Z: http://www.geocities.com/whateverjames/300zx.html

I need something that wont cost me an arm and an eyeball to run. But before i got my UK200SX (which thankfully is going so well) i would have ripped off my left leg and battered old ladies to death with it in the high street naked to get the money for one.

I think I like my 240 a little better than the Z-car. I mean, there are so many things to upgrade and to work on, and Z is factory-perfect... well, almost. Just my $.02

I agree with Vancouver, 300's have a bad rep around here. Besides the 300's have been done to death. Think about this, for the cost of a stock TT what could you do to your 240 Me thinks you could kick some 300 ass with that kind of funding, eh?

hey Konkman... Yeah I agree if I had that enough to get a 300z might as well fix up my 240 to the limit and go so fast that cops can't even detect me...hehe.

Oh, please! You all know you would take the 300 anyday. All this loyalty is making me woozy. We get 240's cause we couldn't afford 300's. Old women drive 300's cause they're rich old husbands buy 'em. Even they would drive 300's over 240's.

Poor, poor, wav,

You can't see the big picture. Any moron can buy a bigger engined, slightly less sexy car and kick some ass. It takes real imagination and individuality to buy a "lesser" car and over take the ones above it.

I guarantee if I took the money you would drop into a 300 (TT or N/A) and put it towards a 240, the 240 would be kicking some ass (appearance and performance).

But if you want to drive your uneducatedd HUSBANDS 300, which he purchased because some saleperson looking for more commission; then enjoy your ride.

I was just deciding on this...... I was bent on a TwinTurbo Z, no other options..... but insurance would rape me, and I wouldn't have enough money to do anything with it.

TTZs are that shit, but so are 240s. Insurance is pretty much the only reason I am going with a 240, and the fact that you can make a 240 go faster than any 300Z in the quarter mile at least (except maybe the professionally sponsored/driven Zs)

N/A Z's can almost never be faster than a 240 (with mods on both), because turboing a N/A Z costs a shit load of money, not even worth it and I only know of one supercharged Z... **read twinturbo.net**

Anyways, Nissan is the way to go...
I plan on getting a 97 240 SX SE in about 3 weeks.

The only other car that I would let my 240SX go for would be the Skyline GT-R series. (R33-R34)

I'm never getting rid of my 240! I'll drive it until I can afford an M3, at which point it will become my weekend racer.

Would I trade my 240 for a 300? Nope, I've driven many z32's, (turbo and non,) and although they are nice cars, you feel every ounce of the weight.

You got to understand, I come from a background of crx's, fiat x1/9's and the like, a Z is just to heavy for my tastes.

Plus, it takes a lot of $$$ to mod them, ie: 2 bovs, 2 turbos, 2 manifolds, etc. I love Nissan, but if I was in the market for a heavy gt-type car, it'd be a Supra, not a Z (This coming from someone who wanted a Z32 since the first time he saw one at age 14.) There great cars, just not for me...

my .02 pennies,

-ben

I am actually planning to buy a 300zx and keep my 240 as a daily driver. The 300zx is just so perfect already. The twin turbo can be improved, but 280 hp and a 0-60 time in the mid 5s is pretty #### fast. Better than 8 seconds. If you think about it the only thing you could do to a 240 to make it faster than a zx would be nitrous or a new engine, which you can get installed for between 5 and 10 grand depending on the engine. Then there is always the interior with the back seat and all. The shelf in the back of a 300 is perfect for subs and its just an all around tight car, I especially like the headlights. Anyhoo....I like both. I just got my 350z materials in the mail. They sent me a little silver static free bag with a pack of cards inside. Awesome. Each card is like a little picture with different shots of the car. And even though it does look like an audi or a porsche, it still resembles the z and who's to say audi and porsche didnt copy nissan? oh well...got a little off topic

Hmm, i think i've changed my mind actually. If I had the money I'd probably buy either a 94 or a 98 240sx, not sure which... I really like the s13, but the later s14 is really nice too. Oh well, I don't so I won't, lol. I'll just keep this car for a while
