RPS Shim Tool

Rebuilt my Sr20det and I need to clearance my rocker shims, had a rocker pop off and pretty sure I missed the clearance step.

Does anyone have the tool or made one I can buy or rent?

Seems like a fairly straight forward process once I can track down a tool. Could a bad lifter cause that the rocker issue? When first started the engine I didn't have any tapping noise.

SR's are common for throwing rockers.

Is your SR S13/S14/S15? Whats "rebuilt"?
SR lifters are hydraulic therefore running OEM lifters will bring the clearance back within spec if you haven't done a valve job (heights will be different). If your running solid lifters then buy tomei test shim kit and measure/order accordingly.

Also RAS are good and bad.. Good because it can potentially save your save rockers from coming off and bad because it may cause the rocker to get stuck between RAS and camshaft/head and cause more damage.

Don't install a rocker arm stopper, its a trap. If your rocker want to fly off, its going to regardless of if you have a RAS or not. Usually all a RAS will do it make the rocker snap when it flies off by trapping it under the cam.

This is the procedure you should follow Click me plz

As for the tool, you will probably have to make one or have someone make you one, I don't think you can buy one meant for the SR20.
