Ok, so I'm trying to plan my spring wheel and tire combo. I want to get something light and am considering the K-1's but if I can find something less common for the same or less money, I'd like to try.
Looking for 16 or 17 inch wheels weighing around 15 pounds (definitely less than 20). Other considerations are the konig sub zeros, and the traffics (any idea the weight of traffics, discount tire was clueless). These will be going on a white 93 240 se fastback for street and auto-x use. I would love a set of advans or volks, but they are WAY out of my price range. I still have to do suspension, intake, exhaust, tires, etc, so unless they're under $200 a wheel, please don't tell me how cool they would be, I already know. I realize this has been covered. I'm not looking for opinions, just light wheels since most mags don't include weight in the ads. |

actually, Volk is coming out their "Gram" line. I think it'll only be in 17"s. they claim 15lbs. price is gonna be around the 300-350 range a peice. It looks like the Advan RG, only with 5 spokes. I've seen gold and white, but heard of gunmetal.

I've seen pics, they're pretty nice, but still kind of out of the budget I would like to spend. I think I'm probably limited to about 2 differnts sets of wheels for the money, but I'm hoping someone knows of something else. Oh, yeah there are the ssr integrals, but I don't want those.

How about the forged wheel called the Stern Aguzze S07, its only 14lbs for a 17" wheel and you want see it everywhere.
Also consider the 16" Rota Slipstream, it only weights 13.5lbs and is about half the cost of the Stern wheel. You can get these wheels from http://www.machiii.net |

As much as I like some really nice advans and volks, I can't justify the price, nor do I want to run 15" wheels on the track this summer. Getting a set of Kosei's gives me an extra season or two and leaves me with $800 that can go for better tires, or a racing seat, or exhaust. Wheels are important, but so long as they work and are light I'll be happy. I'll get some fikse's or something when I'm old and loaded.
West, I may have thanked you too soon. all those wheels have honda offsets and bolt patterns. I'll have to call and see if I can get some that fit. |

I was just about to say that minime about the spoon wheels. anyways, if you wanna know the weight on traffic's and sub zero's, just go to konigwheels.com...and go to products and check out all their lines. it shows each wheel in each of the colors they're made in, weight, offset, etc.

Those were Work Miester S2R's from Japan. They had a +35mm offset with a High Disc Setup on the front to clear my big Brembo brakes. The wheels were $2300. 17x8 front and 17x9 rears.

I had to custom order them with the high disc and its no charge. I got the wheels from an Importer called HRE Wheels in San Fran. I waited 3 months for them to be made in Japan and shipped over. They weight 18lbs.

The rota wheels look nice, especially the subzero clones. However, the 17's only come in +45offset which isn't exactly ideal.
The circuit 8s in 17' seem to have a "okay" offset. Anyone have these rims on their s13s? I'm looking to get black or gunmetal subzeros in 16's. Thanks. |

Check out Kosei K1 Racing. They are light, but I don't know about their quality. Also, they are $160-200 which is nice for the budget conscious (everybody?) - Adam

sub zero's, just go to konigwheels.com...
________________________________ eh Sub Zero's are Rota's and they are like Knock offs of the Racing Hart cp035. They are excellent forged wheels and about $475 in black, white, bronze and gun metal. they weigh in at 13lbs for 16 and 17 's |
