"Best" deals on zilvia thread
As I'm sure you have all seen s13s and s14s have been posted, as of recent, for astronomical prices. I've created this thread to highlight this and hopefully receive some conversation on why the price hike.
Not to say I don't still see fairly priced well built cars here but it is an emerging occurrence seeing cars priced extremely high. So please comment on how you agree with me completely or how this thread is redundant and nonsensical. BUT the fun part is to post cars currently for sale that you feel are the best deals on Zilvia or at least fairly priced. my top cars of the week: (East Coast) 1.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/525725...akes-more.html 2.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/525612...yesterday.html 3.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/523554...t-sr20det.html 4.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/524699...r154-swap.html 5.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/495114...-reliable.html |

I guess I'll bite...
Quote:
How is this priced high at 6k? It has s13 aero bumper, ca18, nismo lmgt2s, stillen big brake kit... even the smaller things are a 400-500 each: 5lug conversion, carbon hatch, carbon hood, exhaust, cams, C's short shifter, s15 hlsd, etc. Quote:
$10k seems fair. I haven't been keeping up with the market for IS300s, but I'm assuming a stock one is probably around 7-8k. it has 2jz-gte swap which is a few grand. brand new AMS EMS is 1500-2000 alone... Quote:
5K obo. It has s14 sr20, apexi coilovers, 5 lug, z32 brakes, s13 front end with bricks. Quote:
$7k for s14 with 1jz swap.. Not much description, but it has 1jz with r154 which is equivalent to an rb25 swap, coilovers and all suspension links upgraded (although brand unknown), z32 brake front and rear, etc. Quote:
it has REBUILT sr20 with practically new everything bottom end. upgraded everything on head, greddy plenum, splitfire coilpacks, kouki tails + more. All these cars are priced fairly, imo. These cars can't be replicated and built for less. I think you're expecting a 240sx in 5 different shades of primer and probably have no idea what it cost to build a nice car with quality parts. |

^Those are the cars that I feel are priced fairly, sorry for the confusion. Thank you for doing the explaining for me though
Didn't want to list the cars that I felt were overpriced but to clarify: These are some of the cars I feel are priced high: 1.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/521397...y-fun-car.html This appears to be a well built car but not worth 15k, he has put obo so idk if he is expecting people to lowball him 5k+ and has worked that into the price or what, for any sr'ed s14 zenki to pull close to 15k it would have to be immaculate. I would list this car at 10k. 2.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/523543...-slicktop.html Not an s-chassis but was just looking through and found a stock z32 for 6500obo now it is obo but look at the thread lol. I would have this car listed for 3500 3.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/521853...ed-462whp.html Let me start out by saying this is a bada** car, I can definatly respect the work that has went into this car and I'm sure it hauls. But 18k for an s13 hatch that is relatively stock besides the drivetrain seems high. It is a unique build with the z33 tranny however I would have this listed at 12k. Now I have bought, owned, worked on and sold s-chassis's one of which I sold here a while back as well as have had numerious other vehicles, so I do have some credentials when appraising vehicles. Before someone calls me out, I'm aware the owners of these vehicles can set the price to any amount of their choosing, In my opinion the prices for these vehicles do not reflect their actual value. That's why I listed the first list as those are cars I would buy before even considering lowballing the owners of the cars listed above. You shouldn't be able to build any of these cars for the asking price^. These guys are trying to sell their cars right? Just for comparative purposes these are other vehicles around the same price as these: 1.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/438977...t-overall.html 2.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/381371...-300zx-4k.html couldn't find any zs for sale and didn't want to post any clist post so this was my post for when I was selling one 3.http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/499001...ped-built.html And these arn't even the best comparative examples but you get the idea here's another clean car for a good price http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/425204...-bc-nardi.html |

I sold my s13 for $1400..
5 lug Z brakes front and rear Megan coils PBM arms NRG wheel, q/r, hub rebuilt single cam Se model No rust Fresh paint, interior/exterior Uncracked dash Full exhaust from header back The reason I sold it that cheap and a fair price imo, was because it was a gutted drift car, no sound deadening, etc (was about to get caged). Super strong yet under-powered engine. |

If everyone spent less time in the classifieds and more time helping others in tech, we'd be better off as a community.

Also, the flaming on zilvia is horrendous. People just flame for the sake of flaming. Why not everyone help each other and look out for each other instead of Flaming to "look cool" .

Amen Brotah!!!! this topic has been discussed countless times!!! One word of advice for all those buying/jumping into 240 for the first time; do not pay 5k for a single cam 240 no matter what!!!

I started a thread about this and not too many people seem to agree lol Anyway, back on topic... I like the idea of this thread. I don't know that anyone would go for it, but it might also be cool to update the original post with actual selling prices of cars (along with notes on parts installed, condition, etc) to create sort of a market barometer. We all know some people ask retarded prices for cars that sit and then sell for a fraction of that later. Bottom line is the car is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it and it would be cool to share that info for the benefit of all potential buyers and sellers. But at the very least it'd be entertaining to look at in 5 years when the last coupe in existence sells for $15k.

Here's my thing about peoples pricing, if its too high, so be it. If nobody is willing to pay his prices, then the seller will either keep it or lower his price. As a seller, all he needs is to find one buyer who's willing to pay his asking price, no matter how expensive it may be in anybody else's eyes. With that said, thats the reason why shit is expensive, there are still people out there who are willing to pay some of these obscene prices. Mind you, its not quite as crazy as it was in its hayday (2006-2007), prices of cars are actually coming down. You sure as hell wont find anybody willing to pay $10K for a low mileage stock 5-speed S14 Kouki like it did back then.

z32 slick top are hard to come by I would even venture out to say that they are rare, so with that said I believe 6500 obo is a fair price for a z32
one thing I consider on the pricing of s/z chassis is the area its being sold and where it spent most of its 16+/- years, if the car is slamed and had all the undercoating scraped off or if it is block of bondo sanded down to look like a car |

My car was *perfect* and I got it for 6k...but that was also ten years ago. I could have easily not touched it and made double that in 2007.

Somewhat related, though not a Zilvia deal... Found the lead on eBay.
I just picked up a '93 SE coupe. Auto, but stock and rust free. EVERYTHING WORKS; HUD, A/C, flip-ups, etc... $2,000 Two... thousand... dollars... Moral of the story? Fuck drift tax.

it is strange this car has such a high price, even here where i live, drifted on, beat up s13's i see for $4-7k, and s14's that have body panels messed up and possibly frame's not straight are like $5-8k, and there was this 97 240 SE bone stock with 73,000kms, it was asking $9500, then dropped to $7500 and sold at that price,
after owning a 240sx i don't think i would pay so much one |

Or less time complaining about stuff you can't afford, and more time working more or doing something to get money (or better yourself)... in order to afford that stuff one day...

Dude
F**k off. Anyways, in my opinion, a bit overpriced (I guess maybe because of how clean it is, it's priced like that? Don't really know much about S14s): 1995 S14 240SX Silvia RHD Overpriced a little?: 1990 Nissan 240sx Best deal (if I had the money, would totally have purchased it long ago): Wide body nissan 240sx, hatch, Clean Title, low miles Dash looks pristine, ready for paint, OBO, project car in the making!! Oh...these aren't Zilvia links... D: sorry. But I know that widebody is on Zilvia: http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/533914...dy-2970-a.html |

That's exactly the reason why I want it! I prefer that it look like it's actually a part of the car rather than the typical riveted-on frankenstein look...not sure why people do THAT. Don't get me wrong, there are many cars that look just fine with the rivet-on look, but why do that when you can mold it on and make it look like one whole-looking car?

Gawd damn, 25k for a bowl of rice? You can find a better deal at costco
But on topic: nissan 240sx If you buy this for 1,000 and sell the rims, hood and stupid wing you got a nice cheap starter project. |
