Are your Flca lengthened between the tension rod and the ball joint (now spherical)?
Car looks sick, especially when its squatting and sounded AWESOME in person at Summit |

Thanks pigeon! They're oem length between the tension rod and balljoint unfortunately. When I finally make a set of tubular FLCA's I will change the distance between the two though
And yes, please come support at Fabricated Motorsports pro-am round 3! It will be a very exciting event just as 1 and 2 have been

Yes he was! If you want to see him drive again, come watch THE MEXICAN STANDOFF! The following is event spam, copy pasted lol. This thread is getting a little slow, this should keep it moving on to page 256.
Round 4 of the Lone Star Drift Series, The Mexican Standoff. FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE, PLEASE INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! The Mexican Standoff | Facebook The concept of this event was simple from the beginning. Offer a bunch of prize money and watch the competitors tear each other apart. With so much money up for grabs, how hard will the drivers go? How entertaining will it be to watch? How can we make it even more entertaining? This event was carefully placed the day after XDC finals in Dallas, so that all the out of state drivers could stick around 1 more day and try and take some of the pot. We also are going to allow drivers such as Chelsea Denofa and George Marstanovic to compete, and they have already agreed to in advance. This was cleared with both Formula Drift in advance, and every top driver in our series that is close to the winning license spots. Drivers such as Chelsea are able to win prize money, but not accumulate points in our series. They will be erased from the points race like they aren't even at the event in the final standings. For example, if Chelsea wins 1st and Will gets second, Will gets the full 1st place points in the series. -------- September 23, 2012. Round 4 of the LSD Drift Series. When: Sept 23, 2012 from 9 am to 7 pm. Drivers arrive at 8 am to get ready, drivers meeting at 9:45, track goes hot at 10 am. Where: Mineral Wells Airport, Mineral Wells, TX. Just west of DFW. What is it: This is both a fun event where anyone can drive, with an extra practice course so the action doesn't stop for the non competing drivers when the comp starts. Then we will have a full blown big money comp. Price: $85 for competitors, $50 for open drift. $10 for spectators. Registration: Drivers must register online by paypaling $85 to [email protected]. If you do not register online, we will accept payment at the gate with a 25 dollar late fee. Please don't pay late. Online registration ends as of midnight on the 21st of September. Spectators: Spectator fee is paid at the gate, not online. You may come and go as many times as you like at the event to get food, or for any other reason. There are multiple cheap food choices within a few minutes of the track including Subway, McDonalds, Chicken Express, Fuzzy's Tacos, etc for your lunch. You can arrive or leave any time of the day to watch and hang out, but the competition starts around 3 pm. If you bring an appropriate car helmet, not a bicycle helmet you can ride along in the drift cars! Bring cold water, shade, and chairs! |

Bump for updates.
Just read this whole thread. Took me hours lol. I learned a lot and I appreciate you taking the time to write all of this. I'll definitely be hitting you up with questions as I get started on my build. This thread has really inspired me. I'll trade you chassis and drift information for information on LSx setups lol. I'm a drag racer just dipping my feet into the drift world. I saw where you were thinking about maybe swapping for a different cam. Before you order one, call up Martin at Tick performance. He is one of the true LSx cam gods and I'm confident he can spec a cam that will fit your setup perfect. For example, a really good friend of mine just put a Martin cam in his car (stock bottom end LS1) he added a set of ported LS6 heads and a FAST 92/92 setup and it made 430 hp to the tire but the power through the curve is PHENOMENAL. It is a true animal. Don't get caught up in the dyno number game. The power through the curve, average horsepower and average torque is what you want to be concerned with. Most of the guys that are in the 450+hp range on these LS1 motors have what I like to call "V-TEC" cams meaning they are lazy as hell down low and mid range but scream at the top of the RPM range such that you can actually feel it. That wouldn't benefit you at all I don't believe. Also, for your setup, the power you're making is on the money for what it should be making. Keep in mind that the 4.08 gear ratio will make the numbers read lower on the dyno and also depending on what type of dyno you were on, it could be reading lower. If you have any questions about your LS setup, don't hesitate to ask. I've been around LSx platforms since they came out. If I don't have the answer, I'll point you to someone who does. Love the car man! Keep up the good work! |

Yeah he's getting rad in a 500+HP Mark II... I don't think this thread will be updated at all from him. A LOT of time has passed, and a bunch of cool stuff went down...

there really is far too much to go into. basically once the 25 year rule approached i'd been out of drifting or any sort of serious driving for awhile. i wanted something that could kind of ease me back into the seat while not requiring that i go all out. i got in contact with gtr garage as they were bringing in the cleanest of cars and they specifically found me a cherry bnr32 with bnr34 motor swap/brake swap/susp bits and lots of tasteful n1 bolt-ons, te37v, etc. i bought it in january so between then and august 1 (when it landed) i straightup hoarded a LIST of parts. upon arrival it got even worse. here's a few of my awful choices and an idea of where its at now. i'll update it from this point on
as soon as it got home i put on some 17x10.5 te37v i'd ordered in anticipation and my arc fmic it blew an axle boot rather quickly so in i went. removed the quantum black coilovers the car came with and upgraded to stance pro-comp 2-ways. swapped the oem r34 turbos for a pair of hks gt-ss, installed an arc front pipe, made my own titanium 3.5 downpipe back exhaust, tossed in a pair of brix 1.5s, etc etc etc. dyno'ed a very healthy 455 rwhp on oem inj/maf and some worked over oe exhaust manifolds actually in all honesty i purchased an amuse exhaust from japan but it was misplaced. i decided from that point on i'd never wait for anything and taught myself how to weld titanium. i was very pleased with how it turned out for my first project a test i'm conducting to improve the attesa system beyond even the functionality of bnr33/34 systems. more on this later and THIS is my unicorn part collection. i was able to find a defi DSSC as well as a legit power fc pro model. if you know about these items, you know how fckin rare they are. they are my pride and joy enjoy! sorry about the speakers haha their current situation haha. lots lots lots coming on the bnr32, even more on the skyline japan. its about to undergo a full paint job trunk/bay/interior/exterior. has all new restored.jp panels up front on the exterior. receiving a fresh L28 with rebuilt mikuni's (though a tad undersized ). i've retrofitted an entire s14 front suspension including rhd rack, subframe, custom FLCA, etc etc etc. thats a brief idea of what all i went through on the gc210 its been a really fun project! unfortunately it was around that time that it had to pause because r32 stuff was rolling in, ha but now its time to go back to the japan and get that fucker going!!

Thanks for continuing with this thread. Very good read and seeing the transition is pretty cool as well. I know there is a lot of back fill you would have to do but what made you get away from drifting or motorsports all together? I could understand getting a GTR staying in the Nissan family, but for being heavily involved with drifting/RWD and then coming back form the dead with an AWD monster is kinda night and day you know? I personally went from a EVO 9 to a S13 in the process of 3 weeks. For me it was right price and right time.. So I just like to see why people do the same thing.

for me Motorsports could never be a job. I truly loved it and I think it reflected in a lot of what I did. I got to meet some of the greatest people out there and made a ton of amazing friends, I travelled the country and saw so much. but now-a-days instead of endless spending and nonstop investment I had to make a decision, and that was to walk away. these days I still build, but mostly for a hobby or for other people. I intend on building a lot of items for the bnr32 chassis and hopefully some people find interest in them! fabrication is a real passion of mine and it's very nice to not only do what I enjoy but to also not have to come out of pocket to do it. when the time is right and when the car is ready, I will eventually track the r32 but nothing near the extent of what I did with my other cars

I'm so happy you updated this. I was getting bits and pieces from your IG feed and it just wasn't giving me all the answers I needed haha.
I LOVE that Ti exhaust by the way. |
