I have came to the conclusion that it was mice must have been the culprit, I spotted one few days back hauling ass out of the garage when I went in to work on the car. My guess is he was the one dropping the shells in the coolant systems. that was the only spot I did not have tapped off. there is no visible damage to any thing and the motor is running great.

Took the car out for the first drive with the SR20DET. It pulled hard and put a huge smile on my face. However the trip was not with out issues. I popped the inter cooler cold side off of the throttle body in the first mile. Then multiple gages need to be lined out better. I think I need a cleaner ground. I also need to put in the correct speed sensor, OEM temp sensor for the OEM cluster, and Order a proper fitting fuel pump. I have a Q45 fuel pump in there now, I am not very happy with it so I am shopping for a replacement to the dead Walbro 255 pump I have as well.

Have not had a moment to swap out the Speed sensor, or the dummy temp gauge. My Prosport Gauges were not reading correctly, they were either reading 0 or jumping from spot to spot. Turns out they did not like the ground that the SR20DET deals with. I was able to confirm this by runing my heavy gauge jumper cables from the negative terminal on the battery in the trunk, to the ground wheel under the hood. Suddely it is reading as it should. I have a 2/4 gauge wire I am going to run from the trunk to the grounding wheel for a nice solid negative connection.

When I did all my stuff I did custom grounds throughout the chassis. I daisy chained the pos and neg for all my pro sport gauges and they're fine. Make sure you use at least 6-8 gauge wire for the sensors themselves or the readings will be jumpy all the time.

I am running same size gauge wire that the gauges them selves use. Tonight after I arrived home from class I ran a 4 gauge wire from the negative post of the battery in trunk, to the "Grounding Wheel/Disc" in the engine bay. Also swapped out the s14 SR coolant switch for a S13, now all but my speedo and fuel level are working. I have not had a chance to drop in the S13 VSS, and it will be tomorrow night when I get to drop in the S13 sender with the working fuel level, after I set up the new AEM fuel pump.

Also drove it into work tonight. I defiantly need to swap out my tierods, and get an alignment.

So far life has done nothing but become more busy for me. I work on the car when ever I get a chance. So chip away at yours and it will come together. Mine has been a long time coming.

Well I am splitting up my pictures through a couple accounts now. Should be fine for a while.

Anyways I got bore and flexed on my carpentry skills with the back seat delete. Lighting was terrible but gives you the idea. Just as soon as I was finished with all this work the 10" woofer blew, but hey for $20 it did a good job while it lasted. I am going to recover the box and source a new 10" after the new year.

Broke 2 of my rocker arms thursday.... Down shifted into the wrong gear and cracked them. made it to where I was headed no issues. car had time to cool down while I was taking care of some things. I made it about a mile down the road with normal city driving and 2 of the arms gave out. clean breaks no metal shavings. I have some on good rocker arms on order, seems like every fwd SR20 I have found in the area is trashed or has the roller rockers that are too big. I should have it back up by the end of the month.

i'd say buy some more wood and make a proper panel between the two strut towers, to include both the sub and whatever speakers you want, including the amp on the back , or even inside, hidden, with a couple of computer fans circulating some air.

I have a piece for the backing. Just did not make the time for that after the sub popped. I have not committed to a permanent location for the amp yet.

LoL there is a bit of irony with my screen name, and the way things have been going for my car lately.

Sub blew up, (most of the audio turns out to be worn)
rocker arms,
The walbro fuel pump that was doa out of the box.
strut tower bar did not fit over the SR,

List of little nagging things keep on out side of the scope of my car as well. I work 12 days on 2 off 64+ hours per week. Then 12+ hours of college course per week not counting the time I take to study(maintaining a 4.0). Building an engine for some one else, swapping an engine for my vert, the project car, weekly grocery shopping, and just to top it off I am in the process of buying a house. Then I have responsibilities I do not mind getting in the way; raising 3 kids(and finding the time to spend quality time with them), supporting my wife, and our small zoo. I sleep about 3-4 hours on average per day, in case you wonder where I find time for every thing. Don't get me wrong, I am tired.

I need a vacation....

I will be lightening my load in the next 6 months. The goal is to be in a better paying job once I get some Microsoft certifications under my belt, which will reduce my work week and give me my weekends. Time frame for that is about 6 months. By the end of this month, I will have closed on my new house, the vert will be running and a 5 speed, and the project car back up. Then finish the ka motor rebuild by late June. which will then give me more time to spend sleeping, studying, or what ever else pops up.

I had to angle my Greddy intercooler back so the plumbing cleared my floating hood pins. And the majority of the plumbing is the s14 SR20det Isis intercooler piping I purchased from enjuku. I also used a couple of Greddy intercooler pipes I had laying around to make it work.

It has been a while since I posted, Life has been extremely busy, bought a house, started college back in January full time (Made the Dean's list every quarter so far), kids starting kindergarten, and working obscene hours.

one of the last things I reported was about me breaking my engine. I have had no time to redo it, but this September I will be building it bigger, stronger, and faster.

here is a shot of the burnt up valve

This last picture of my car at my old place waiting on the tow truck, this is where I built the car. It was bitter sweet moving from there.

I pull the motor apart some more, Looks like I floated all the valves. Way to go me.... good thing I am upgrading every thing. the upside is that there is no scaring on the number 4 cylinder at all.

Also found this gem when I removed the transmission.

Over the past month I have had a lot of parts come in to build the SR20DET up, not to mention these nice Dickies floor mats. I tend to wear Dickies work clothes when ever I am working on any thing, including building this car. They have earned their place at my feet. Also wat to thank Dynosty tuning for the great deal on the Rings, and valve seals, I will be keeping an eye out for the boxes labled Tomei.... And thanks Jacob for the deal on the bearings, and rear main seal. Every one else keep checking in over the next month or so for engine building pics, I am setting up for big pawr...

Dropped the bottom end off at the machine shop a few hours ago to my favorite machinist. I should get it back in a couple of weeks.

I had this waiting for me when I woke up today, felt like Christmas! I will be dropping the head off to the machine shop finally. I hope to have it back about the same time as the block and be running in the next few weeks.
