Read tons of threads but haven't solved my problem. Changed master and slave cylinder. I also bled the lines through the dampener and slave and refilled the reservoir whenever it went low. If I pump the clutch about 30 times and hold it down I feel a bit of pressure but the moment I let go, Its all gone. Tranny shifts fine when the cars off. Is this more air? Also, can't remove the dampener without stripping the thread on the line that goes to master so that's not a choice atm. HELP ME.

Get rid of the useless dampner
Bend the line to fit the slave.

Also I hope you bench bled your clutch master befor installing it......


Oh use vice grips to remove the dampner so u won't strip it
The ones you screw the end.. Looks like an alligator. Bite down on that he'd real tight
Very common with those soft 10mm
I've alligator wrenched for ss Line changes on brake stuff too. It's normal

s chassis's bleed really easy for the most part. I've installed master cylinders, slaves, and lines simultaneously without any problems.

Leave the bleeder on the slave open and fill the reservoir. Gravity bleeds the air and you do minimal pumping. If you still don't have proper operation then you have clutch fork/throwout bearing and or carrier trouble.

That wont be fun because of course you have to drop the trans, but do it all once and do it all right and forget about it for another 20 years.

I actually have this same problem.. my slave and clutch are both bled and the line is too.. but my clutch doesn't come up all the way. only about half way, and sometimes it slowly sinks to the floor.

but the clutch still works, I can get in and out of gears, but it engages instantly

I've tried bleeding it, adjusting the master cylinder connector to the pedal.. but no dice

Sounds like a pin hole in a line to me. Does your fluid level ever go down over time?

no the line is a brand new agency power line. I was thinking maybe the master is bad, so I got another. gonna swap them and see what happens.

I also read that the clutch spring can cause this?

I mean my pedal will literally, slowly sink to the floor from the top in about 20-30 seconds...

and the fluid never goes down!

I highly doubt it is anything to do with the actual clutch or the fingers (springs).

It has to be something going on with fluid. I would wait until the new master cylinder is put on before I worry with anything else though.

Thanks for responding everybody. I bled the dampener for hours and finally got some pressure, but I feel like I have a leak in my soft line from the dampener to the slave cause it feels not normal. So, just going to pick up the replacement line that goes from master to slave like 30 bucks or something. Feel like my transmission is fucking up though getting stuck in 3rd thought it was cause clutch but no=I fml but yeah thanks again!

yeah that dampener is stupid. best bet is to delete it,
honestly it could just be the play on the clutch pedal that is bothering you , after i got rid of the dampener,replaced the slave cylinder, i bled it and it was fine , the play on the pedal bothered me for a while but i got used to it

First mod I do to any S-chassis I own is get rid of the stupid dampener loop...

Also what can cause this problem is the plate that the input shaft goes through on the transmission. It can make the clutch feel like hydraulically isn't working but in fact it's just broken inside. I've attached a picture of what I'm talking about.
