a new clutch kit , resurfacing the flywheel....and what about labor? if that's included i'd question the quallity of the clutch kit they are selling you..not that's it's bad quality but think about the way we drive. you want something that will hold up.

if that is clutch plus labor, it's a good deal. Most of the time shops want about 150+ for labor.

I dread it everytime I have to do a clutch on my car. Sucks balls! Luckily my brother is a competent mechanic as well. You really need to have another competent mechanic with you if you are pulling the tranny.

well they quoted me that price for everything including resurfaceing the FlyWheel. plus it comes with 3 year warrenty on parts and 1 year on labor

driftLadie:
Yea it's the same since the drive that day.

the weird thing is that the car feels alright except for the pedal not coming back as far as it used to and the shifter feeling more loose.... might be a line or something when i hit that bump when sparks came out from under the car.....

you are definitely losing pressure somewhere Al. if the pedal feels mushy ..could be a line.. if you pump the clutch pedal a few times does it build more pressure?

I just changed my clutch cause my stock clutch fried cause of the turbo, I don't know what the big deal is about changing a clutch. Unless your trying to Mount an S14 Tranny into an S13. ::Cough:: (David)

Second you said that your shifter is feeling loose. Um, I think I would check your Tranny mount before you mess with your clutch, cause the clutch has nothing to do with your shifter feeling loose, Either something inside the shift assemble got fucked or your mount got fucked. If you hit hard and sparks and the whole works you might have damaged something else.

Just my 2 cents, but that's the way I see it.

its a bitch, but not impossible. you dont need a lift. you just have to jack your car up as high as possible. be sure to use jack stands!! i can't stress this enough.

you also probably need at least 3 guys to help put the tranny back on, or 2 really big guys. its doable, and i was able to do everything in my garage up till the part of putting the tranny back on. all it takes is a bunch of elbow grease and determination. i know after all was done, i told myself i would never do it again. but that was about a year ago and im willing to take the challange again. i know ill probably be regretting it when im under the car w/ bruises and cuts and bitching the shit outta my car but for now, im up to it.

it turned out to be just the master cylinder rod that broke and slave cylinder that was leaking.

yea..changing clutch aint too hard but time consuming and a lot of things to remember...i did it with my friend in front of my house..2 jack stands, 2 scicorr jacks, 1 cheap ass hydraulic jack..some sockets/wrenches..and my stock exhaust piece as a breaker bar..can't get n e ghettoer than that..but with those conditions and putting about 75% effort into with 25% of messing around, took us a good 7-8 hours. Mind you this is for the SR, not the KA. The KA is easier since the tranny comes right off. I had to deal with the stupid firewall...~_~
