Just my 0.02 cents but spectators are kind of a good thing. I think some drivers need to get use to a lots of people look at them while they do there thing sooner or later I see a lot pp mess up just because there not use to a crowds watching them. |

But they can also steal things and get in the way of drivers, especially when they are frustrated or tired, and need to be left alone. And most of the time (IMO) drivers choke from pressure coming from other competitors, judges, winning, and their state of mind (that's a large factor). Although i'm not denying some people get nervous when people are watching, i feel it's more because of other factors.
and to stay on topic, BUMP! I need to prep my car baddd. hahaha >__< |

a few resons why this is not a spectator event : A lot of guys are tuning cars, getting ready for next major event. A lot of extra cost is incured when you have to pay the the speedway extra for spectators, then pay to insure said spectators( in case a side skirt flies through the fence). + this is a little bit of "private time to try new techniques and set-ups. once again, Drift Buffet will thinkabout a spectator friendly set up in the near future. Thanks Terry

Sweet! and if a few people end up watching I don't think it will be a problem.
Unless 300 people show up or something! Terry

/\ the only way you could get in is if you ride along with someone driving in it. the gates will be closed to public. you might be able to get in, but the point is this is a private event not for spectators.

easy - #1 - own a drift car, sign up for the event and be a part of the action. #2 - or find someone lonely enough to let you be pit crew for them or else #3 - stay home, dream about a car you don't have, and make posts on zilvia to prove to every one you are one hard parking mofo!

Thanks to all the great dirvers that came out to Drift Buffet. Due to the succes of today, we have pleaded to the track gods to consider two cars on track at a time. This is an order to speed things up even more.

Well i'd like to say, i dont run these events, i just help out. BUT, if you act hostily towards someone and are mad about a rule, fighting it doesnt bring pretty answers. and either way lots of spectators still showed up, so you could have, but i guess you didnt. If you're so hurt about not being able to go watch, then just wait til D1/FD or you can sign up. Dont start getting all mad about it, that's useless.
But hey, nothing makes EVERYONE happy right? hahaha Last edited by AmuroRay; 11-03-2005 at 08:57 PM.. |

start revving at them, they'll move. that's what i do. it works with people in cars too. and to the guy who thinks they're mean at these events or whatever it is...if I were you I'd give it a shot with a different attitude, if ANYBODY has entered one of these events on a bad note, it was me, and I LOVE the driftbuffet/landho events....and i love drift day...and I love JustDrift! it's all good as soon as you're out there and driving....everyone is there for the same reasons. -Colin |

if you got butt-hurt from terry's humor. it's because you don't go to the events to understand it. everyone is laid back and funny. even brian was nice enough to cause an 'earthquake' while I was filming, haha. The only thing that was ghey was Irwindale having us off the grass to keep it green. You should just man up and go there. It will change your views of how fun it was.

Hey everyone, thanks for coming out and making a succes for us all and having a great day full of kick ass drifting! The reason that they asked us to stay off of the grass was due to extreme watering techniques used the day before. Solly guys. I have since learned that you can pretty much go anywhere else you want to. ( stands, starter's tower, etc.)
& We still managed to be cool enough to let the "pit crews" onto the oval. It probly won't ever happen again. Friends of drift buffet spent almost 1 hour picking up trash and more trash. We didn't help by giving out all those redbulls , so I can't rant too much about it. However - all "pit Crew" will have to stay in the stands and near the trash cans at the next buffet. as for the real stuff that I care about - we will have to cars running on the track together next time. This should speed things up a little more. So stock up on tires! COLIN - thanks for your kind words, it really means a lot to me personally. arigato gosaimashita You have been a pleasure to get to know and are a great contributor to Drift Buffet. + you can drive kid, so stop taking pics and smoke some coopers!
