Ka24de-t

Ive decided to go KA-t simply because if something goes wrong i can come across a KA for cheap. i have no idea where to start, at the moment i have a 95 kade with about 70k miles.

So this is where my fellow zilvians come in.

give me your advice

should i rebuild a motor? (internals) if so give your advice

If it helps, im not trying to to have the fastest ka or anything just something a tad bit quicker, i will be using the car as a daily.

i know ebay turbo kits are a big no no, so what would you rewcommend?

give me your advice thanks,

If I was going to make another turbo KA, I think I would use something along the lines of a t28. Maybe an s15 turbo, or a disco potato or something.

Just don't get something too large, or it won't spool fast, and your car won't be fun.

I would also tune it with something quality, like a tuned ecu, or a standalone would be even better. Get it on the dyno, and make sure you have a wideband too.

Make sure to compression test before throwing a turbo on, make sure you have good, consistent numbers.

Get some good injectors, maybe some stock SR injectors if you don't plan on running too much boost.

Keep the intercooler small to help reduce turbo lag a little too.

Hmmm.. I think that's all I have to say. But there's probably still more.

stock internals should be fine..you're probably going to make around 300hp with a t28 setup. it'll a fun setup and relatively cheap. look around on zilvia.

Fun, inexpensive setup: t25, sr 370cc injectors, small fmic, z32 maf, safc II, possibly rom tune but not really needed, i don't see a need to go forged internals with this kind of setup...if you have bad compression though you would likely need to take the head off and see what's going on anyways

More fun, more expensive: t28, some 450-500cc's, z32 maf, small fmic, some sort of tune...start thinking about forged at this point.

Even more fun... GT2871r .64, 700cc + injectors, cams, forged internals, dyno/rom tune, z32 maf, larger fmic....on a good tune i don't see why you couldn't make 400whp on this sort of setup

I would suggest upgrading your clutch for any of these setups, not sure how far the stock KA will go but if it were me I'd got stage 1-3 depending on the setup.

Just throwing some ideas out there, of course there are even larger setups, but beyond the 450whp range how streetable does the car really become. Keep that in mind because it's your DD.
