Auto to M/T swap????
So it seems that every S14 in my area is either inexpensive and an automatic or its a 5 speed and beet to hell. I want this cheery S14 that's an auto but im not sure if the swap to M/T is worth it. Any advice from peeps that "have" done this.

i just finished mine sunday took me a week, since i had to wait for my new clutch kit and new bolts. but it is very easy.
i did it all my self besides taking out the auto trans since it weighs about 250 pounds, had a buddy help me out, but other then that its simple. (i never knew how to do it) thats why i looked at write ups oh and hardest part is getting the auto pilot bushing out (if its stuck in there like mine) took me 3 days to get it out, and also stabbing your engine with the trans. Good luck and its worth it, im glad i did mine. it was fun easy and now i have a 5 speed |

the puller's from autozone are fucking trash. i broke 4 of them before telling them i'd just like my money back. i personally used a hook to pull it out a bit then locking pliers to lock onto it and pull it out, some friends have used dremels with carbide bits to get them out.

Im 17 just nd just finished up my auto to manual in my s14. Im good with that kind of stuff but it wasnt too bad. I got stuck on the wiring but i quickly figured that out! The bushing is some what hard. I almost drilled mine out before i sprayed penetrating oil in there 3 times in one day, let it sit for a day and it slid right out the next with 2 slaps with the slide hammer. Lining up the manual tranny was a bitch. I had some trouble, but the swap is well worth it. Im very pleased, and it doesnt throw any codes either

Ok sounds good everyone, I'm no mechanic per say, but my father has always kept me around all kinds of tools so I think I will be able to tackle this. Is there any good write ups with a parts/tools list this would help me a lot.
