divided and undivided turbos
hey guys i have been reading alot on this site for some time now and now its time for my first post a couple months ago i bought a super clean zenki. after having some fun with it i decided i wanted to do a swap. originally i wanted an sr20 but after doing ALOT of research ive opted for a s2 rb25. my question is i was looking at turbo manifolds and noticed they say divided and undivided. and i realized i had no clue what they were talking about lol i feel i have pretty good knowledge on car and engines and turbo systems but realized i dont know alot of the background stuff ( im still learning) ive search on google and wat not but everything i see its just people asking can they put an undivided mani with a divided housing or vice versa. is anyone able to elaborate what exactly a divided and undivided turbos and or manis are. and the differences.
Thanks in advance |

It has to do with maximizing the exhaust gasses as they leave the motor. So when they hit the turbo they do not conflict..
Hypothetical scenario, the manifold will allow the first and third runners to connect. and keep it divided from the 2 and 4th runners, until it hits the turbo. I understand the theory but cant really explain online, and im not sure if it helps performance or what specific applications it would be useful/detrimental
