Downloaded it last night, doesnt work... yet another disappointment

My friends and I finally got it working last night. Imagine the tutorial being the bottleneck and that server is being hammered with a million requests. Once through that bottleneck disconnecting and reconnecting work just fine. Takes some patience but once you do the tutorial you should have no problems.

We only got to play for an hour or so but good lord was it fun.

This. They've been doing work on the server all day but they picked back up around 5pm EST. I'm having a HELL of a lot of fun. BTW, paying the $100 for the peaceful mode, or whatever it's called is a stroke of genius. Keeps those dumbass 14 y/o kids from killing you while you're on the way to do a mission.

Also, for those of you still trying to get through the tutorial. When you create a character, if you quit out before you complete the race, you will corrupt the file and you'll have to delete it and start a new person. At least on xbox that's the case.

Easy fix. Only play on an invite only server that you or your friends create. My vision for gtao wasn't to play with all the CoD kiddies who are waiting for Ghosts. It was to mob around with my real life and gaming friends becoming public enemy numero uno.

My best friend and I just spent 2 drunken hours trying to figure out how to parachute off the mountain. God I wish you could record gameplay easily off an xbox. Classic shit

I have been trying to figure out how my friend streams to twitch from his xbox. He swears up and down its all native and he is not using any extra hardware. I think I may have to take a trip up to steal his xbox because it apparently had shit no one else has.

i beat the story mode and chose option C cause i did not want to kill trevor or michael.


Online mode is kinda crappy IMHO... hopefully something changes because so far i am disappointed in online mode...

Story mode was amazing...tons of fun

If you look under the Replay missions menu, you can do the mission to kill Michael or Trevor without starting the game over

Today was the first time I was able to play online and it was actually really fun. I got killed by some random player the first 30 seconds but after that, me and a few other random players were able to do some of the missions and it was pretty fun. Definitely would be a blast with people you know.

online play has really gotten better, i have been online using my created player. I really like the online mode now that it is working properly.

So the whole phone contact thing has been getting me pissed off. I keep meeting people, they keep getting added to my phone, but then there is nothing to do with them afterward.

Why have them added? I also don't like how there doesn't seem to be any user choice in the game as far as events go.

i am confused about the whole phone thing too...

go to your phone and go to quick job to just join a random, or you can start a lobby and host your own.

Online mode does need help but it is much better now

Is anyone able to do anything else besides races, short missions, and just robbing convenience stores, aside from killing each other?

I feel like the only way to make money is to sell cars to ls customs and simeon.

I'm tryna buy some goddamn real estate. Also, does anyone know if you can randomly steal a car off the street, and then later go put a tracker on it to use as a personal vehicle?

Say for example, I stole a Bullet ( Ford GT). I park it in the garage and later go to los santos customs to put a tracker on it. Would I be allowed to put a tracker and mod it or is it not even going to let me in because it is too hot to modify or I should buy premium cars online?

I ask this because I am deciding between buying a bunch of safehouses/ bunch of garages/ or just one bigass apartment with a 10 car garage for like 128k.

Call Gerald for the mission "Violent Duct".

Make $9k, hit like and then repeat the job before it goes to the job selection screen. Do this by pulling the right trigger on Xbox instead of hitting the green button to continue.

If you have 2-4 people, the job can be done in 2 minutes. I made $80k in around 35 min.

Also, I think you're limited to one property. I bought a lil 2 car garage, and it sold automatically when I stepped up to an apartment with a 6 car garage.

I believe with the new patch from yesterday, they put this job down to 3k. I did this last night and it only paid out 3 grand. You could also do the grove st. race, and if your playing with your buddies, bet on whoever you want to win and let them win and just let everyone take turns doing that.

Got $20k in roughly about 30 minutes.

Ahhh...yeah, I haven't been on in a few days so I wouldn't know.

Also, doing a survival nets you $20k if you get through it...better have some buddies with you that all have microphones though.

The Sandy Shores survival game pays out $20k and you can play it as many times as you want. Only downside is it is kind of time consuming. I noticed also the more missions you do for one contact (i.e. Martin) the more the later missions start to pay. The most I made off one mission was $25k and that was a mission for Ron. It was called base invaders. Sometimes robbing a store pays off. most of the time for me its around $1500-$3000 but every now and then the cashier drops like 7 stacks. Also selling a car to the shop. 10k here and 7-8k there plus a 20k mission add up pretty quick.

Also, Rockstar is giving $500k to all players who played during the month of October as a "stimulus" for the bugs and the people that lost characters.

I bought one apartment for $250k with a 10 car garage and that is plenty for me. Now I only focus on buying a few select cars and upgrading weapons. But overall, having a blast and can't wait till the put the bank heists back in.

Ya survival is money. Too bad I don't get rewarded for all my headshots. :/ plane races, helicopter races, so fun.

Yeah, a lot of the big SUV's will get you around $9k at the Custom shop.

My issues with the missions is that I have a completely opposite work schedule from my friends, so doing the difficult missions by myself almost never pans out.
