Riverside Motorsports Park. Atwater, CA
Visit the website for more details, and frequently!
www.rmpracing.com What is Riverside Motorsports Park? Riverside Motorsports Park is a 1,200-acre, motorsport sthemed, family entertainment park in development in Merced County, California. Its plans feature multiple racetracks for every form of automobile, truck, motorcycle and kart racing —meeting the needs of professional and club racing sanctioning organizations across the United States. The racetracks under development at RMP include: • 7/8-mile paved oval speedway • 3-1/2-mile multiconfi guration road course • 5,000-foot drag strip • 3/4-mile multi-confi guration kart course • 1/2- and 1/3-mile integrated paved oval tracks • 3/8- and 1/8-mile integrated dirt oval tracks • 1-mile off-road circuit • 1/2-mile motocross course Why Merced County? Within a 60-mile radius reside 3.3 million people; within a 100-mile radius, which includes San Francisco and Sacramento, are 9 million people. CEO’s Report: What’s Happening? When? It’s true...the long-awaited public review of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the development of Riverside Motorsports Park in Merced County is over. What started as a 45-day review was extended to become a 60-day review, ending January 6, 2006. Now we’re pleased to answer the question, “What’s Next?” The Results. First of all, the project’s EIR advisory team has informed us that both the number and the topics of the comments received by Merced County were fully anticipated, without too many surprises. What’s Happening. Currently, Merced County’s Environmental consultant, EDAW, Inc., is preparing responses to each comment received. When the responses are completed, EDAW will compile the Final EIR (FEIR) for the Merced County Planning Department, which will then review and summarize the report for the Merced County Planning Commission and Merced County Board of supervisors. Public hearing dates by both groups will be scheduled and two sets of meetings and votes will be held regarding the project’s approval. Riverside Motorsports Park will announce these meeting dates and encourage our supporters to attend each meeting. We anticipate that these meetings and votes will take place in April of this year; however, Merced County still controls the process and timeline. If approved, ground-breaking would occur this summer, launching an 18-month construction period that will have the facility ready for racing in the 2008 season. Please Help! Many of you have already sent in letters, e-mails and postcards to the Merced County Supervisors and Planning Commission asking for approval of the project. Although we have received tremendous support, we need more letters, e-mails and postcards of support to off-set the voices against our project. Please ask family, friends, co-workers and other supporters to go to www.RMPracing.com and access “What’s Hot” for the mailing addresses of the Supervisors and Planning Commission, as well as ideas for letters. Also, if you are part of a racing organization, please contact all of your members, asking them for their support. If you have questions, please contact our offices at 209-383-7671 or write to [email protected]. Meanwhile, I’ll see you at the races! Major WOOTNESS!!
