Question what harness do i need? s15?

so i found a steal of a deal on a 95 240 with a s15 motor that didnt run anymore due to wiring issues. the car had a aftermarket ecu and wiring harness, halteck i believe? well anyway the car got broken into and they took the hood and fenders and cut the harness right at the ECU and took the ECU. so if i need to source a new ECU and harness do i need the s15 ecu and harness? will a s14sr harness work? i know the 14's run 370cc injectors and the 15s run 480cc but if it got sent off for a tune i could throw 550cc on there and tune it for that? and i know there are two differenct s14 sr's, differnt MAF plugs, but with a z32 maf it wouldnt matter cause itd need to be hacked from the pigtail correct?
anyway i can source s14 harnesses all day but not s15 harness, would it work or is the wiring different between the two?
any info helps! thanks in advanced!

It seems you have a few of your facts jumbled up. You're probably posting for a few quick answers, but most of your answers have already been discussed, or your answer is to look, read, and learn how to use a S15 FSM. Dlll it at rezlo.com. Dedicate a good amount of time to figure it out.

You need to find out if there are some specific modification on the engine before you go running an OEM ECM. You can source a S15 ECM easily from a few members on here that import parts. You can also buy a used harness through them. The harness isn't very expensive if you buy one new from your local dealership (Only some Nissan dealers, like mine, sell imported parts). Some dealers and even Nissan vendors on this site can hook you up with one. But, chances are you'll have to wait a few months.

Like I said, the rest of your questions are already answered. Search around and read your FSM.

there are no mods to the motor so an OEM ecu would be ideal of course. im mostly worried about the harness, id rather go after market ecu but for the time being i just want the car to run. ive done a lot of research on it actually i just dont have a straight answer to the main question, will the s14 harness work on my s15 motor?

lol.. go to rezlo.com. Download both the S14 and S15 FSMs and take a look at the harness layout sections. You'll find your answer quickly, with details.

I know you'd rather go with an aftermarket ECM, but since you have an engine that is not modified, that would be foolish. You need to sort out the wiring issues first. Then proceed to modify your vehicle.

so, after hours of research....s15s use different coil packs? and the hole for them in the valve cover is smaller then the s14 valve cover? s14 uses a ignitor chip while the s15 has individual ingnitors either on the coil themselfs or in the ECU? 480cc injectors are brown while 370cc injectors are gray. in order to use the s14 harness and ecu youd have to do the following:
use s14 coil packs with ignitor.
s14 valve cover
and s14 water temp sensor
z32 maf (optional)

this is what ive found, can anyone confirm?

Yes to all you posted so far...

Another option is running a Spitfire coilpacks (they are skinny) so you dont have to change valve cover, but you still need the S14 harness and ignitor chip. If I was in your shoe, I'd get an S15 harness and ECU.
