fuel and spark but no start

i just swapped in another stock KA after spinning a rod bearing in my 96 240 and now i'm having problems. the car will crank all night but never fire. i've checked all the grounds i can find and all are connected. i pulled the plug wires and they all spark to the chassis. i've pulled the fuel line going into the rail and it sprays fuel out when cranked. the plugs smell like gas. the gas in the tank is brand new. plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are all brand new. i've tried a different distributor and a different ecu. i'm getting no codes at the ecu. all of this would point to a timing issue but as far as i can tell the timing is dead on. i did replace the HG on this motor before i put it in and used brand new head bolts and installed the timing chain per the fsm. at TDC the first cam lobes are pointing directly away from each other with the dots on the camshafts lining up perfectly with the ones on the head. i've stabbed the distributor/s at least 30 times now thinking maybe it was a tooth off but i would think it would have at least been on one of those times if even by complete accident. i'm completely out of ideas and getting desperate here. any ideas?

have you checked compression?
are you sure youve got the right firing order?

Timing right?
Right firing order?
Do you know that motor ran before you got it?

My bet is your timing or firing order is off. Or both

spark? yes no?

if yes then you may have no injector pulse or a weak one.

if not get ur ignition module checked. confirm ur coils work. start at the begging and work back. pull the plugs off the coil and set screw drive across post to the frame if it jumps you have spark that far.
timing?
blown fpr?
pugged fuel return?
dizzy may require on obd 2 that it be in cirtain spot?
crank/ cam sensors hooked up if there not iside the dizzy?
oil pressure sender hooked up? nissans wont start without those hooked up
try unhooking the fuel pump and take some intake cleaner/spray and crank it over and see if the car tries to fire or run. if it does you have fuel issue

try those if nothing PM me and ill try and help u more

makes sure all your ground straps are hooked upaswell. and since u did a head gasket you done a compression test after? or check head/block deck for warpage?
