Need help wiring new double fuel pump relays s14 - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I started out by installing dual walbro intank fuel pumps then i ran new ss fuel lines to the motor..Now i am stuck trying to figure how to connect these jegs double fuel pump relays..I tried tapping into the stock relay wires but the fuel pumps prime and dont turn off after 3 seconds that dont seem right. Now i am debating about hooking up the new fuel pump ground to the original plug wire near the fuel hat its unplugged at this point..

i tried connecting the yellow switch wire to the ecu fuel pump relay "18" wire no luck . Anyone?

I'd suggest that you look over your oem wiring.
The ecu tells the fuel pump to prime, when it senses the engine isn't spinning.
The only other thing besides a bad ecu i can think of, is your trigger for the relays is not controlled by the ecu.

If you pull the oem fuel pump relay does it stop priming?

On your relays you have numbers that say 85,86,87, 87a and 30?
Usually it would be
(85) Ignition
(86) ground
(87) 12 volt wire
(30) To fuel pump Power wire

yeah it stops priming..im not using the stock wiring at the fuel pump maybe i have to tap into the stock wires for the signal no?
I tapped the two black with white strip wires from the stock relay with the 87a wire from the new relay..the pumps turn on but dont go off after a few seconds

The way I wired my dual pump setup is as follows.
Reconnect your stock relay in stock location.
Mount new relays under car near fuel pump above tank. Run fused wire fuse closest to battery to relays. Then connect to pump. Ground relay to same ground as pump or right to a clean chassis ground. Connect stock fuel pump wire to relay trigger.

Do not use 87a that is for normally closed circuit.

Correct! You shouldn't be using 87a for your setup.
