Colorado 240sx Meet
I am putting together a Colorado 240sx Meet. It will be a BBQ/ meet&greet in Boulder, CO. The date hasn't been decided yet, these days are available: June 21,22,28,29 or July 6,12, or 13th. I have had one vote for 6/28 or 6/29. Anyone have preference? The site is in S.Boulder off Hwy 93 a map is here . It has more than enough space for cars and people. We also have 2 large grills so we can do hamburgers/hot dogs etc... I would like some feedback on what else to do (mountain driving, go-karts, or Dave and Busters, etc...) Any other comments/suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, David J. '89 240sx Broomfield, CO |

Irena and I will be there. Were down for whatever you guys decide on. My vote would be Mtn Driving or Go Karting. Itd be best if it happened on a Sunday, so add us down for 6/29.

Date is set
After a few votes, the meet will be held on June 29th. People should aim for around 11:00am. I hope we can eat around noon, then go for a drive after that. I expect around 10 people or so to attend. For food we will be grilling some hamburgers, hotdogs and/or brats. Do you all want to bring your own food, or would you rather have me pick up the meat and you guys give me a couple bucks?
Thanks, David J. '89 240sx |

The more the better
Irena- I have gotten info from Action Karting @ Bandimere (720)338-6514 and its as follows: $25 for 12 laps (10 timed), 2nd session $20/12 laps (10 timed); For a 125 leopard kart its $55 for 12 laps (10 timed) and 2nd session $45 for 12 laps (10 timed). Open from 10am-6pm. There is also IMI Motorsports Complex in Erie (303)833-4949, I haven't had time to call for more info. I will try and do that tomorrow. As well as call Denver Indoor Cart Racing formerly Team Building Concepts which was Speed World GP before that. They are located off I70 near Quebec (but I could be wrong about the Quebec part).
This next week I will be taking some drives in the mountains to scout some good roads. Jeff Baysinger and I have been kicking around the idea of heading up towards Estes Park and driving the Peak to Peak Hwy back down to Idaho Springs (around 100 miles) and having dinner there. The questions are: How long does everyone want to hang out? And how much driving does everyone want or not want to do? Honestly, I wasn't expecting as many people as I have interested. I thought I would get 5 people and then we could decide on what to do. Instead, I have a list of 30 owners and about half are coming. So, I want this to go smoothly and be fun for everyone. So if you guys/gals have any ideas, let me know. On a side note, come out to Second Creek raceway this weekend, 6/14th & 15th, to cheer on Jeff Baysinger ('95 240sx SE) and Kazuo Tanaka ('98? 240sx). They will be racing in SCCA Solo Trials. Unfortunately for me, I don't have the $$ to race this weekend, and one of these 2 will take the fastest STS 240sx @ Second Creek title away from me. Come see which one gets it.... Thanks again, David J. '89 240sx Broomfield, CO |

Looks like I'm accepting the offer and starting the week of July 7.
If the date isn't set already I should be able to make it either of the last two days.

Damn, never thought there were so many 240s in CO.
Were down for Go Kart and Mtn Driving as long as noone trys to run over Irena during Go Karting since shes with child and all Dave, have you put together a Mailling List of everyone yet? Send out some notices to everyone if you decide on what to do. Id suggest start the day whenever the Go Kart place opens (9-10ish) get that done with, maybe have a quick bbq or something or head to the mtns and eat some grub there and come back. Or we could do this the other way around but itd be nice to meet some of the people and cars before we go cruising around. Let us know! |

Keep us updated, I look forward to meeting all of you guys. I let some other guys know about this so there should be quite a few. I think this guy with an AE86 might come too.

Nope but there was a period where I was in there alot. I really hope that my new wheels get in before the meet. I got some 5Zigen FN01R-C's in 17x8 and 17x9 with a 225/245 setup.

Its still on...
Its still going on. I had been busy this past week, helping my girlfriend with her business. Things have slowed down now, so I can make some calls. I have found out Bandimere is having a Sport Compact Race/Show on 6/29, so I think the karting at Bandimere might be out of the question. However I will double check w/ them to see if there is a way to avoid the traffic. In case you all were wondering admission to the race/show is $15, more info at www.bandimere.com.
Mark, I plan on having a "owners list" printed out for the meet. I am including names, email addresses, location (city), and year of car (noting any sr or ka-t cars). I am missing the above info on ~10 people. I have PMed those in their respective forums, but it seems most don't visit too often. People that have rsvped: Jeff B., Mark and Irena W, Barry B, Kazuo T, Matt V, Blake, Matt A, Don and maybe James (recently wrecked 240), Garret S, John W, another Matt, and Zan - "typezc"(sp?-sorry). Keno is leaving out of town, but will try and stop by, and Adam is scheduled to work, but is trying to trade a shift. Obviously, myself (Dave) and my girlfriend Jennifer will be there also. Thul, I would like your info as mention above, I can be reached at [email protected]. Thanks alot guys, Dave |

Update
I went for a drive yesterday, and I found a decent road. Its not too long, but there was hardly any traffic. It had a decent amount of turns and some good elevation change. During my driving adventure, I also went out 119 and got onto Virginia Canyon Rd. aka "Oh My God Rd", to say the least it was interesting. I have found new respect for WRC drivers after driving down that road. I would have felt better had I been in my subaru w/ nobby tires rather than the 240 w/ bald Azenis. Someday you guys need to check it out, nice view.
Defy- it was probably one of the guys from www.cosr.com, alot of them are in the Springs. One guy down there has a sr in his '93 hatch. Dave |

I am still trying but I might not be here. My family is having a get "together" this weekend, for my grandpa's 85th birthday.
I finally got the 240 running too, damnit.

Now I've figured it out! I just moved from Chicago and since I've been here, I thought I was due for a car jacking. I've been geting sooo many looks rolling around Denver.
I have a white 97 240SX SE. 2 weeks ago I got an enormous amount of attention when I pulled into a gas station on Wadsworth to fill up. Since I've been here I have only seen 1 maybe 2 240SX's. It here that the car is extremely rare in CO though. I missed the most recent meet you guys had. If you have another PM me. Also does anyone know of a respectable mechanic in the area? Over the course of a year I will be devoting a substantial amount of mods to my ride for street racing and a enjoyable daily commute. |
