SR20 oil pressure relief valve differences?
Hello everybody, I'm currently stuck on my rebuild because I can't figure this thing out.
the following oil pump assembly is from a 1997 rps13 blacktop type X SR20DET this is how i disassembled it for cleaning. 1x plunger 2x springs 1x screw there is no oil seal washer (which would lower the oil pressure)and the plunger looks different from the ones that I see on the net. I double checked with motoiq's oil pump rebuild and frsport's assembly "set" and they all look different to mine. Those also have a small relief hole in the middle of the plunger. Mine doesn't have one I'm pretty sure no one has played with this one before because there were no marks on the screws whatsoever. Can anyone please help me out with his. I dunno if I should just get a new set or put it back together. Also I'm thinking maybe this has been revised with the later models just like the strainers have been for instance. This is driving me crazy |

I hate to bring up an old thread but did you ever figure this out? I got a brand new pump and sent it to Mazworx to machine with my block and got it back in pieces. It was missing the washer/seal and I’m wondering if this style just doesn’t have one? I have the same plunger and dual springs as you.
