I'm having one hell of a time getting my s13's cluster sorted out. lights and coolant temp gauge worked fine on the drive home from the shop. Had no tach because i broke it trying to put the oem face on it.

symptoms

Illumination and coolant temp gauge cut out intermittently.
Swapped tach out for known good dohc unit, still dead. checked that plugs were good n tight, tightened up the screws on the back of the cluster.
lights and temp gauge started working fine, and after a few miles, cut out again.

Fuses are still good.

Will check for loose chassis harness grounds, need to check for RPM signal from Ecu.

is there anything on the smj that will have an affect on the cluster?
