Nicks Aussie S14 Clean build
Hi all! 29/12/2018 I am not really good at introductions, so bare with me! My name is Nick, i am 20 and live in a little suburb called Wollongong, an hour south of Sydney, Australia. I bought this S14 May from a friend. He had it in a garage stored for 11 years. The reason why the car was put away is because somebody keyed the front end, both guards were primed. The first owner took the bonnet off and lend it against a wall and bent the bottom edges of the bonnet, so that got replaced. When he offered it to me, i couldn't help myself. Dates were set and the drive began. There was only 1 issue... he lives over 12 hours away. That wasn't going to stop me for a clean, unmolested car with NO rust or accident history (not including the keying) whatsoever. I love country cars. Potato Cam, but you get the point! The vision... I am keeping this car's chassis completely Untouched, no cuts for a FMIC, no guards rolled for wheels, No dirty holes for gauges, 100% completely Unmolested. I am bare metal respraying the car, whilst having the whole car PDR (Paintless dent removed). I done 5 years of Panel beating so this is not a big challenge for me. But... standard body, with a twist? I have bought a whole heap of cool things to go on which I think will make it look absolutely stunning. I absolutely love the OEM option parts for this series. I follow the Yahoo Japan auctions very closely so the things like the rear window shades, glove box 'cool box', Navan seats ETC ETC will be mine eventually, its only a matter of time... and funds. So sort of a mini-Update.
Some of the parts came in! Also picked up a Brand new Blitz Power meter ID3, Brand new Radiator fan shroud and Full dimpled and slotted RDA EBC rotors + EBC Yellowstuff brake pads all round. Side skirts didn't make it this shipment. So it gives me time to sort out a beautiful set of LMGT1 or LMGT2 Nismo wheels to come with them. Happy times! Just trail fitted the Kouki rear bar... Time to order some more parts.
Need the number plate light loom, beaver panel number plate holder bracket and both side brackets that go on the side of the bumper. All are different to the Aus delivered rear bars, how fun! Sorry for the potato photo. Last edited by nichthen; 09-03-2017 at 12:46 AM.. |

My starter motor was dying for a little while now, got a near new Genuine S15 starter motor for a really good price, in that went!
Also got around to installing the ARC Turnflow kit whilst I had a little spare time this evening. The kit fits soo perfectly without ANY modifying to the chassis at all, perfection in my eyes. Last edited by nichthen; 09-03-2017 at 12:48 AM.. |

Here is a photo of the bay:
The metal pipe that connects to the T/B Plastic pipe is an ARC supplied part, it really does fit perfectly. Also removes that weird air chamber thing which is nice! Last edited by nichthen; 09-03-2017 at 12:48 AM.. |

Love the build man, so few well-kept unmolested versions running around these days. Any other stealthy motor mods planned?

Which is what makes them so desirable ... They looks pretty decent too just wondering how difficult it might be to hook up the extra lights. Theyre brake lights or what?

Had a little parcel come in today from Amayama.com, always producing the goods at amazing prices, as usual. Recommend them 110% of the time.
Various gaskets, all belts, rear window moulding, badges, centre console lid, missing A/C lines etc etc Bought both an Original Nissan logo and a S14 silvia front emblem. Couldn't figure which one i want to put on the bonnet after the respray, so "cue that Mexican burrito add"... Why not both? Still waiting on side skirts, front and rear Nismo strut braces and a front windshield mould, can't find a new one anywhere. |

Non S14 related post, but still Nissan? thought i'd post up my newest addition to the family.
Today was a good day. *clears throat* Introducing my JN15 Nissan Pulsar VZ-R Serie N1 Version 2 K116. So basically, this was Nissans answer to the EK Type R Honda back in the late 90's. Total weight without driver is around 1090kg~ There were 200 Version ones made, and only 36 version two's. Nissan kept 2 or 3 themselves for race cars, so only 33~ odd Version 2's where made available to the public. Extremely rare! Some of the cool things this car didn't have the factory are: No Sound deadening No Stereo or speakers No rear wiper + washer on the rear hatch Manual wind up windows Super lightweight limited edition Ver2 only seats (R32 GTR shape but with Orange trimming) There is heaps more little things, but those are the main ones for now. Worthy to note that this car in 1998, held the world record for the most power per litre. 147kw (197bhp) Through a 1.6L. Also has 8 injectors! Many people don't know these cars even exist So glad to have one. That makes this the 3rd to be in Australia. Heres some pics. Today! |

The laws here in NSW are strange. For example, if a police offer pulls you over and see's something he doesn't like, you will a defect notice. There is either a Yellow or a Red defect. Yellow is minor, Red is major. You car then has to go to a certified mechanic to be looked over and he has to tick it off that the problems were fixed. Ontop of that, each defect you get is $90. So if you get defected for a pod filter, dark tint and tinted tail lights, thats $270 you won't be seeing again. Yellow defects for example are: Window tint below 35%, open pod filter in engine bay, Front mount intercooler added, exhaust noise is over 94? decibels i think, horn not working etc etc just small things. Red defects are major, missing body panels, bonnet not opening, exhaust missing or rusted away, seats missing etc. If you get a major defect, the car cannot be driven. It must be towed to a mechanic or back to your house. But at the end of the day, it all depends on how good/bad of a day the cop has had if you get pulled over. I've been pulled over multiple times and never had any fines put on me. I've heard some police in sydney absolutely go in dry on anyone that drives are that attracts attention. (Civics, Silvias, GTR's, JZX etc etc. Yep, they did. Completely different material and shape though. |

I picked up a First gen Nismo front strut brace that was in below average condition, just lots of scratches and surface rust.
So it was time to bare metal respray it, lol. Strut brace turned out a lot better then i expected, its now only missing the Nismo sticker which i will find eventually, but for 60 odd bucks, 2 hours of time, a little elbow grease and a flick of paint. I got myself a cheap Nismo front strut brace. Maaad! Also got a 10/10 condition Nismo rear tower brace aswell. I should really get around to installing all of this stuff, haha.
