Will an engine harness from a 97 240 work on a 92 240?

no. plugs/connectors are different and in different locations...blablabla. (assuming you have a stock dohc ka engine from an s13, you need a harness from a dohc s13) on those same lines a SOHC s13 harness will not work either

watch the classifides on here for a car partout, or post a wanted to buy add in the WTB section. check local junkyards (but those are almost always damaged cause its easier to cut wires if they are in the way of the part someone wants) craigslist etc.
