Wan gan ...lets get it on!!!
just kidding... My 89 has actually less mileage than yours because when I bought, the dealer had 10,000 miles on my baby....now let's talk condition wise
how clean and "original" is yours???/ Nothing like the first (89) 240 SX..........gotta love them! |

242k on the stock engine when I pulled it and replaced with a 47k S14 long block. 2000 miles later, I swapped the head off the old engine onto the new one, so the engine as it sits in the car is S14 block, 60k miles, S13 head, 255k miles. Perfect compression
Here's a pic took last year...

Wow! And I thought I had a lot of miles...I'll roll over 209,000 by next weekend. Those miles include 3 track days, 30+ autocrosses, and alot of hard street driving. I've replaced the clutch (upgrade), radiator (upgrade), exhaust (upgrade), water pump, starter, plug wires, cap/rotor, plugs, belts, oil/filter, fuel filtler (upgrade), and brake rotors/pads (upgrade). The timing chain is rattling pretty badly from hitting the guide, though.

89 KA24E with an alleged 128,000
bought it with 109,000 on the trip driving it back home, the radiator crapped out on me, stranding me in Gainsville, FL where the dealership promptly raped me for a new one ($800 ) overrevved it in KC breaking the timing guides off, took it to the dealership where I again paid far too much ($850) Also bent a valve, so it smokes a lot since then. Then there is all the little stuff like oil changes, new dash, new seat(drivers side one sheared off), plugs, fuel filter, headlights, burned through 2 sets of tires, car washes, etc. I figure my 20k miles of KA ownership has cost me about $2k But recently the car has held up quite well to my abuse. I have flogged it in many autocrosses, and each autocross is a 200 mile round trip. Each time it brings me home in one piece. Plus, now I have learned my lesson and will never take it to a dealership for service ever again -Matt

If anyone is really interested... here is the truth of what Ian thinks is bad service! First I get an AIM from him about a Tomei Headgasket Gasket, and he request I order for him. I never get an order off the web-site, nor does he call and give me his information... but the whole time he is sending me AIM about wanting this item. He Finnaly orders 3 months later and adds a set of Samco Hoses for a CA18 in the order. Samco doesn't stock the CA hoses in the US So it was special Order from them... 3 months later Samco delivers to him. The Tomei Headgasket was listed on my site from which he ordered from... but he still implies to this day I have overcharged him... not charged twice... but charged double the amount! When you order off my site you have a recipt to print with your Sub-Total... this amount never changed, and shipping was maybe $20. Ian, I am sick of calling on all of your negative post about my company... you know your in the wrong, so please... lay off!

almost 140,000 miles on my '92. It's runnin great..hasn't cost me much for maintenance, just the usual tune ups and stuff. The top timing chain guide hasn't broken yet and is still strong...but maybe the lower one has broken. Gonna keep the KA still it dies, then it's time for the SR
