S14 SR20DET Hesitation/Missing issue around 2-3k rpms

Hello. I have an s14 with a sr20det swap. Currently I’m having some hesitation/missing problems. The problem occurs around 2000-3000rpms. My afr gauge goes over 18 then it’ll just read ---. The car stutters within this rpm range. It barley runs when it begins to stutter and almost feels like you’re barley tapping the accelerator very quickly. I’ve also noticed it only does it with constant throttle. When it does it, if you give it full throttle then it’ll act right, but if you keep it at those rpms then it’ll never get over 3000rpms. I’ve also noticed that it’ll only do it when the car is not at operating temperature. When it’s at operating temperature I usually don’t have a problem.
I’ve changed plugs, checked coil packs, cleaned the maf, replaced the fuel filter, replaced the tps (its adjusted properly), and replaced the idle air control valve. (Some of this was due to another problem that’s now fixed).

But I don’t know if anyone has ever heard of something like this or not. The motor does have low compression but I don’t think that’s the cause. I’m thinking possibly the throttle body or injectors next? Not really sure where to look or what’s causing the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Please be specific as I’m new to these cars. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my SR last season. It ended up being my (TPS)Throttle Position Sensor check your voltages on both your TPS and MAF. Also try plugging into a OBD scanner to see if your computer has stored any codes.

Welcome to SR life.
