my friend wrote this, but this sums up my feelings
I just read the article in SCC on Mahmood's 240SX and I have some observations to make. This guy is a supreme idiot and here are some reasons why:

1. "At first, Mahmood thought he had done right (speaking about his Mustang GT). The 5.0 emblems on the fender looked kinda cool, the Mustang guys welcomed him with open arms, and he beat a stock Civic EX automatic the first night."

--Wow...he beat a stock Civic EX automatic with a Mustang GT. He should be in Formula 1.--

2. "I saw a 240 keeping up with a Supra, and had to find out what it was."

--Well, I think you found out incorrectly there, bud. Or maybe it was a Supra with a Corrola 4-cyl. swap.--

3. "This was a man with a plan. He had already picked out a body kit, rear wing, paint, seats, and wheels."

--This guy obviously has a need for speed. No wimpy front wheel drive cars for him. Only pretty and slow RWD power goes around here. Great priorities there, Speed Racer.--

4. "From one angle, the 240SX is purple, from another angle, it's gold, then it's green. We're told the paint cost $350 per quart."

--I don't think I need to say anything about this.--

5. "In the go-fast department, a GReddy header, an A'PEXi N1 dual cat-back exhaust, and an AEM intake were added."

--Nevermind my previous comments, this guy knows how to tune an engine for optimal performance. He must have upped the puny stock 155 hp to at least 155.9.--

6. "The 240 can now thump with the best of them (referring to the neato stereo system)."

--That extra .9 hp is now negated due to extra weight. In fact, it has now been relatively lowered to 145 hp.--

7. "He's thinking S15 front-end swap and a last-generation 300ZX twin turbo motor swap with custom turbos and intercooler units."

8."People think it's a Skyline, or something out of the Fast & The Furious - but Mahmood is quick to note there were no 240's in F&F"

Then what in the monkeyfuck was Vin Diesels manbitch driving?

--Typical. So very typical. How many times have we heard about the wild, insane future plans that will turn the car into an unruley street beast. This bullshit factor is increased by a multiple of 3 when the engine is not of the same platform and then again by 10 whenever 'custom turbos' or 'custom intercoolers' are to be used.--

In short, this guy makes me sick. His car makes baby Jesus cry.

I'll stick to my Playboys and Hustlers, they always have great articles on world views and government.  I just wish I could keep the pages from sticking so that I could read them...

Man this must be a joke...I know at least a few of the staff at SCC are at least _somewhat_ familiar with the 240--I guess they are stooping to the level of writing articles about cars that are more show than go just to attract more of the stupid street crowd.

i hate it, honda owners are now converting to nissans

rice will soon become of 240s.

240s are growing rapidly. i have atleast 4 email a day about how this person wants to get rid of his civic, buy a 240, and drop an sr in the car to go fast.

Its comin to a sad sad world nothing BUT RICER CARS.... that is really sad. Shiet alotta ppl hea in Va is stilll rockin their civics they like those better cuz its made cheap and easy to hook up. So im glad there isnt alot of hooked up 240sx's around here. Well when my money situation gets lil better than it is at its current state im not gonna jus buy the 240sx and get a sr20 like a week later that is like so lame 1st learn to drive it w/ the ka24de. So u can get the feel for it and if suttin happens u can control it lil better wid a NA than a turbo engine.. well that is all i got to say

Yeah, I must say this is sad...
I think its all due to F&F (crap), lousy articles (crap) like this in SCC, maybe even option mags/vids, initial d... sigh...
On the other hand the converts must also feel that the acura/honda scene is played out and trying to look for something unique...

On another note, I didn't know this until recently, but there is actually an initial d arcade game where you can save your settings on a card... there are actually several locations in socal (mp, arcadia, rowland h, somewhere in o.c and even in van nuys) that has it, I personally haven't seen it but read it somewhere..

As long as they lay off the S13s, which they won't cuz of thier project car, but most people I talk to in my school about cars always ask me about what car Im gonna get, I am always liek a 240sx. So far most don't know what it is, even people who get Import Tuner, I guess they just look at the pics.

You're right. The 240SX sucks. I would never have allowed it in SCC. I don't make all the decisions around here. Editor Oldham feels the need, occasionally, to throw a bone to the show crowd. Fortunately, his big stereo, color-shift paint tendencies are rare. You won't see a flock of these cars in our book. However, Oldham thinks it's important to cater to more than just the hard-core performance geeks like us. I hate that.

SCC will continue to bring you legitimate testing of both modified and stock cars in our market as well as serious tech based around the same. Our primary focus will be on fast, fun and affordable performance cars and it always will. Don't look for this kind of editorial in our competition---they're incapable of providing it.

As for the language. Deal with it. Sometimes we're funny. Sometimes we're not. The parts of the book that need to be serious always will be. The parts that don't, won't.

Oldham loves his fart jokes. We think they're stupid. Try to find a happy
medium.

At least we know the ricers will either:

A. Not be able to afford an RB

B. Not be able to put it in and actually make it work (just cuz a shop can put fake FnF stickers on don't mean they can get that RB to work.

MAn i hate all that rice poop.  i have a bunch of those at my school.  they think there little fart can hondas are the shiet.  theres this guy who thinks he cool with his non vtec integ.  hes like my car cool cuz i burned out in 1st gear.  and he was proud he beat a non vtec prelude.

Dude now i cant wait til i go to japan and get myself a real import car.  turbo nissan.

Shiet alotta ppl hea in Va is stilll rockin their civics they like those better cuz its made cheap and easy to hook up. So im glad there isnt alot of hooked up 240sx's around here. Well when my money situation gets lil better than it is at its current state im not gonna jus buy the 240sx and get a sr20 like a week later that is like so lame 1st learn to drive it w/ the ka24de. So u can get the feel for it and if suttin happens u can control it lil better wid a NA than a turbo engine.. well that is all i got to say

I think its all due to F&F (crap), lousy articles (crap) like this in SCC, maybe even option mags/vids, initial d... sigh... On the other hand the converts must also feel that the acura/honda scene is played out and trying to look for something unique... On another note, I didn't know this until recently, but there is actually an initial d arcade game where you can save your settings on a card... there are actually several locations in socal (mp, arcadia, rowland h, somewhere in o.c and even in van nuys) that has it, I personally haven't seen it but read it somewhere..

I would never have allowed it in SCC. I don't make all the decisions around here. Editor Oldham feels the need, occasionally, to throw a bone to the show crowd. Fortunately, his big stereo, color-shift paint tendencies are rare. You won't see a flock of these cars in our book. However, Oldham thinks it's important to cater to more than just the hard-core performance geeks like us. I hate that. SCC will continue to bring you legitimate testing of both modified and stock cars in our market as well as serious tech based around the same. Our primary focus will be on fast, fun and affordable performance cars and it always will. Don't look for this kind of editorial in our competition---they're incapable of providing it.
