new clutch problems
The clutch on my s13 hatch had gone out. I had a new one professionally installed. The parts list: Fidanza 11bls. flywheel, exedy stage 1 clutch kit (new pressure plate, clutch disk, through out bearing, pilot bearing) and then some redline mt-90. When i got the car back it was great! I didnt go above 3k rpm for 500 miles. By that 500 mile marker it was catching at the top so i had taken it to get adjusted like the instructions said. Now when i got it back it catches great at the bottom really quick but there is no pressure at all in the padal past about halfway. I would really like pressure in the entire pedal so if anyone has had this problem or has some tips they would be greatly appreciated.

bleed out the cylinder..if that does not work then id say you got yourself a soft combo haha.. lightened flywheel on a stage 1 exedy might equal a soft pedal..exedys are known to be soft..but yeah just my opinion..

this is probaly a better description of the situation.the clutch pedal can have full pressure along the distance of the pedal but it will engage at almost the top of the pedal.when it is adjusted so that the clutch will engage at the bottom of the pedal is when I have no pressure for most of the distance the pedal travels. it has pressure when it is engaging oviously but right after that nothing at all for the rest of the way the pedal travels. After removing that clutch damper you guys informed me of will just having it engage where i want and then bleed the line give me pressure in the whole pedal travel again? Also i forgot to mention i had a new master cylindar & new slave cylindar installed as well.

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong to me. When you have the clutch adjusted to engage at the bottom you have little to no pressure in the pedal before you get to that point. That's how it is supposed to work, the only thing you will feel in your pedal will be the return spring. I keep mine up near the top for quick shifts, I barely push the pedal 1/3 of the way down to shift. Removing the rubber hoses and damper box will not change what you are describing unless i am misunderstanding you. It will, however, give you a much better feel to the pedal. It will be more responsive and you will feel the engagment of the clutch much better.
