As many of you know swaping out the KA for a SR is some hard work and a lot of money. I am trying to do my best, but I have been told that I am over looking the fuel pump. The motor will be stock excpect for turning up the boost to 14psi (1.2 or 1.3 bar) will my stock fuel pump be ok? If not which one should I look at? I have been told the (non-turbo) 300zx will work. Is this true? Can anyone give me parts numbers? Also is that my only choice? If I have to get one I want a intank pump. The other one are to loud for me. Anyone have spec. on the 240sx fuel pump? and what the 300zx is? and what ever you guys say I should get? I don't mind paying more for a better unit. I would rather do everything right the first time around.
On a side note Since I swap out the fuel pump do I need to swap out the injector out also? If so what size am I looking for 550cc? |

your stock fuel pump as far as i know should be fine (im not familiar with 240sx's as i am from Australia) .. they (japanese stock fuel pumps) are usually good up until about 75% more power than stock. as for injectors, probably best to be on the safe side.. but if you can afford both, get both!

The Fuel pump is NOT OK at that boost. I know 2 people who blew their SR's at that same boost level using the stock fuel pump. The fuel pump in the U.S. 240 is not the same as comes in the Silvia. You dont need bigger injectors for 14psi but a bigger fuel pump is a must! 1.2 or 1.3 bars is way more than 14 psi. 1 bar is 14.7psi (or so) 1.2 would be ~17-18 and that would push your injectors to close to the max and the turbo past its efficency(sp?). You can buy a Walbro 255 intake fuel pump with a kit to install it in a 240 for ~115 dlvd or get a used 300zx fuel pump for about the same.
