what kind of price are you looking for? I really dont think you can find anything decent for under 1500 thats 2 stage. Its all about the prep work, i was going to have someone paint my car for 1800 but the body work at the price just wasnt there and ended up paying 4k somewhere else for better work.

yep, dont expect anything under 1k at the least. now if you're car is all prep and ready to just be sprayed. it shouldn't be too much. buy your paint and supplies (~$500) and pay someone ($500).

I see you are in So Cal, if you can get to riverside theres a place off rubodux or however you spell it doing stage 2 paint with clear coat with 3 yr warranty for 495. look on craigslist under services and auto type in paint and you'll find it. Youll know its the one i am talking about because it will mention its a christian owned shop.

found the shop you mention i'm gonna be giving them a call tomorrow lol
edit: called today and talked to anne. price for the 2-stage is $495 but that only covers basic prep (sanding). any body work is extra, and if you have sideskirts, lips, etc, that stuff is also extra if you have the pieces painted individually. otherwise if those pieces are attached to the car then it's covered under the original price. Oh, certain paints are an extra $50; like reds (i want a burgundy color) or yellows. silvers greens and i forgot what else is covered. so if you have a wing, skirts, valences, and a lip like and need some body work like i do...it'll cost another 200-300 on top of the 495...still not bad Last edited by upsdude; 04-03-2011 at 08:26 PM.. |

I had some friends over at Honda-Tech.com tell me about a shop called
Roland & Sons Auto Body in Ontario. Stage 2 paint job was around $1300-$1500. Supposedly did great work but I've never been. You might want to check them out and then report back to us. |

be careful with the cheap places.. I tried my luck on a 1k dollar paint job and ended up with a half assed job done. They did everything I told them not to. IE Painted the roof, didn't paint the door sills or the trunk sills and the painted over all the rubber on the doors/windows and now that shits flaking off and looking like booboo! so be careful!

And the maaco over there in westminster did my car for $400, (1 stage, Some paint and clear mix the guy said???) and anyone who has seen my car in person can say for $400, It was well worth it. I had all body work done before it went in though, so all they had to do was final sand it, then spray it. And it turned out really nice though. They didn't mess up on the masking or any of that.

1day paint and body get the base stage paint done, let it dry at their place for a couple of days go back with a marker and a circle all of the problems, have it wet sanded and this will have it preped for the stg 2 paint service they offer. get the $500 paint job done and your all good after that and under $1k. now most important do as much masking as you can and tip the guy doing all of the masking so you have minimum overspray |
