s13 Weird headlight Issue..

A few days ago I notices that my right headlight (pop-ups), stays ome for a few minutes, then shuts off. Leaving my driving with only one headlight on.
Soooo.....I did the usual..

Checked the fuses...they're good.
Checked battery connections...pass.
Checked bulbs....good.
No corrosion or burned marks on the headlight.
The wiring doesn't look burned or frayed.
Whats left to do??

Ok...
Checked grounds...they are good.
I switched them...
The left one stays on still, while the right one has no power,
Then i hit the high beams, and the left one came on.
then switched them to low beam again.
They are both on.

Switched to high beam again. The right comes on only. Switched back...the left one is lit...not the right.....(scratching head with confusion)

Maybe there's some wire damage. pin hole insulation sliced open causing a short to power?

Nah it's not the switch. The switch would effect both headlights. Therefore it's not a flasher/relay either.

Thanks for the help guys.

Hmm. Its not the switch, or relays, or fuses, or bulbs.

I just did a light check a few minutes ago.

Flipped them up, the left came on only.

Flashed the high-beams, only the right goes to high-beam.

Then I flashed the high-beams a whole bunch of times, now both lights work.....weird.

But...when flashing high beams, only the right goes to high beam...the left is dark.

So the only culprit for this problem I can think of the the wiring itself.

The robber protective grommet (behind the female plug for the Hb2)

on the right headlight wiring is chewed up, leaving the wires exposed

and old looking.

I had the same problem and I replaced the switch and it fixed it, the contact in the switch get old and brittle and cause problems that don't always effect both lights that what I would replace...
