What sensor is this???

I have a 91 Base that was auto to manual swapped 2 owners ago. The guy I got it from had no idea what it was and neither do I. Can someone please tell me what this is?

Info on it:

The metal part is magnetic
It has "AG" on one side and "009 RS-104" on another.
It has one hole for a mounting bolt/bracket I believe.
It looks like it goes into a small harness which then goes to the fuse block by the battery

Here is the sensor:

Here's the little harness I think it goes into:

The only light on my dash is the cat overheat (windshield wiper low on usdm) light. No idea why either because I just topped that off!

Any info is appreciated, thanks guys.

if it was a auto then its gotta be a sensor off that. prob either a reverse or park sensor. is it attached to any of the tranny harness?

That's what I was figuring. As far as I can tell, it just goes into the harness conduit and straight to the gray plug block/fuse block I pictured. I can check it out better a little later if that would help. My reverse lights do not work though.

Okay, cool. I'll check that out later when I have a computer. So no idea on the sensor then?

all the sensors from the tranny go into the block. there is three sensors on the tranny. reverse sensor, park sensor, and speed sensor. guessing the fact your speedo works, its one of the two for sure.

Hmm, I want someone to confirm what it is before I chop it out, but thanks for the input.

Well it may not have anything to do with the transmission or swap, I just don't know what it is period. I guess it's possible they were trying something custom, but that's unlikely.
