Ok, so when this kinda stuff happens I look at the director.
Tony Scott He Produced: Domino Man on Fire The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 Domino was tolerable, Man on Fire was pretty good, and The Taking of Pelham 123 looks cool. So there we go as far as production. Now Direction, that's where shit gets cool: Top Gun Beverly Hills Cop II Crimson Tide Enemy Of The State Spy Game DejaVu All pretty good movies. He has some proven films. Perhaps this will be another one of them. |

Wish they would at least keep it in New York.
Every other movie is set in LA/Hollywood. That alone many times indicates a B-movie. Most of them are just money machines and end up being totally forgettable. |

idk about this one. I liked the original. I think what made the film good was it's sense of style. everything from the cinematography, down to the costumes, music, etc was pretty distinctive and persuasive. Also, the urban landscape of NYC was essential. You shoot the same film in Orange County or Beverly Hills, it just wouldn't work. There just wasn't & hasn't been anything like it. The actual plot wasn't anything new. If you do a remake & take away all those stylistic elements, it' got nothing. It'll just be another popcorn action flick everyone forgets about the next day after watching it. What I'd like to see is an action flick inspired by 'The Warriors', but not the same deal over again. Shoot it in someplace different for a change!! I wouldn't mind seeing it shot in Tokyo, London, or even San Francisco. It has to be in a big gritty city. I don't want to see no damn palm trees, silicone, & Ed Hardy caps. |

oh, Domino and Man on Fire were produced by the same guy? I WOULD NEVER HAVE GUESSED hope you like having words burnt into the screen and lots of dirt thrown on the lens. and no tripod shots, ever. the cameraman for both movies might as well have been michael j fox.

The idea of trying to make your way through LA is viusally dope. Think of every car commercial, movie, tv show, music video. prolly 50% of them at least are LA. fucking CSI NY shoots here all day long! Did you think it was really NY for all these years? lol But to remake the warriors sucks. but be happy it will disapear shortly after hitting the shelf and the original will stay cult. |
