Problem getting shifter out
Hi all,
I am in the process of changing my shifter bushing. The problem is that I cannot take out the two inner bolts that's hard to be reach. I tried dropping my tranny but one of my bolts are stripped so I do not want to brake the bolt. I was wondering if I can take out the (snap spring)? Or is there any other way? Thanks |

Why pulled out the whole plate? Just pull out the shifter.. all you need is 2 Flat head screw drivers.. It's only two rings holding it in

Do what the man says, because even after taking out those 2 screws you still need to deal with pulling off the shift plate (it's sealed to the tranny or at least mine was..). Pulling out the rings is way easier.

I used 2 flatheads, at first it looks difficult but once you really take a good look you'll figure it out easy. I wish I had pictures to show you.

You can get a snap-ring pliers that'll work, pretty cheaply, and it makes the job go very easily. You only have to remove one ring, not both - the one with small circles on the ends.
