SR20DET - GT2876R vs GT2871R
Hi,
are the difference between 2876.86 and 2871.64 are really so serious? I need boost from low as possible RPM(Drifting) Thanks |

Personally, I'd go with the 2871 .86. This coming from somebody who started on as 2871R .64 and last setup was a super laggy 3582R. Nothing that clutch kicking the car wont fix if you feel it lag coming into a turn.

I would recomend a s15 spec r honestly, its super responsive and still good for 280-300whp
I have the 2871 .64, still responsive, i think it hits full boost (20psi) around 3600-3750 but i dont drift |

2876 is too laggy as has been said above. Go with either a 2871 or go to a top feed GT3071R with external 44mm wastegate if you want response and more power than a 2871 can deliver

Only catch with a 3071R setup, start buying up spare trannies...SR trannies start showing they're made out of glass with 3071 setup since you're pushing over 400hp.

I had the 2876 turbo and I didn't mind the lag, but on my setup it was violent, on off switch type of power, seriously violent. I probably could have tuned it, but I didn't like the feeling at all. It was ebay turbo housings with garret 2540 center. I hate that turbo and don't miss it. sold it for a stack!

Bump with new question
I hit 0.5 bar at 3500 RPM and full boost 1.5 bar at about 4500 with 2876 .86. I found a Rear AR .64 For the 2876- What will be the difference with 2876.64 campared the 2871.64? It will be easier and cheaper to change only the AR instead looking for new turbo. So your opinion is important before purchasing one of them:P Thanks! |

Fullboost difference with the 2871 turbo is about 500 rpm (.64 = 3700 rpm, .86 = 4200 rpm)
Would be simular difference for the 2876 I reckon.

Who tuned it? It can be tuned to hit boost sooner but you'll lose some top end power. Thats what happened with my GT3581, it was an on/off switch with the first tune I had. Had somebody else retune the car to build up spool sooner and it made some difference as far as response.

Did you play with the cam gears? That can cause the powerband to shift. |

I dont really care about high end - Im looking for faster spool.
I have the original S15 cams. What will be the real difference between GT2871.64 and 2876.64? Is it worth to buy an 2871.64 instead of 76 if it much earlier spool? |

the 2876 is a waste of a turbo. The demise of the 2871 is the 28 turbine, with the 30 turbine the 71 compressor 3071 makes more power. Using a bigger compressor on the smaller turbine dont make much sense
