Crank Angle Sensor Confusion
Hello everyone,
I have an s13 transmission on my s14. There is no place for me to put a crank position sensor on the bellhousing. I know that this sensor is not needed for engine operation and am trying to get rid of the trouble code. How do I bypass the sensor? Can I use a resistor? Also, I deleted my egr and want to get rid of that code too. Can I use a resistor for that? Thanks, Evan |

I would have done it when the tranny was out too. The issue is that I bought the car swapped. I just want to make sure there is no other way before I go about pulling the motor out / dropping the transmission. Do you know if the signal from the sensor is constant or does it vary with rpm? Also do you think that this code would fail emissions?

You don't. Pull the trans out and follow this guide and do it right.
