My climate control clicks on all settings except one

I've got this annoying problem with my climate control. It makes this loud clicking sound from under the dash whether the fan is on or off.

The only time it shuts up is when I press the button with 2 arrows (to blow air on your face & feet). It's about 2 clicks a second, and clicks 12 times before a brief pause, then it starts over......very annoying.

Any ideas here?

Also....the car never warms up when it's cold out. I suspect the thermostat is stuck open or even missing. Haven't bought a service manual yet, so can someone tell me approx where the T-stat housing is located? Thanks
It's a 1996.

Mode door motor is either burned up or the linkage is jammed. Remove it and check for binding when actuated.

Thanks for the reply. I can look thru the center vents & see a little flap move when I change settings....pretty cool.

So does checking the door motor require removing the dashboard? Or just the radio/climate control?

ha, i've got the same problem, but who cares, my AC doesn't work anyways

additionally, only the highest power works for the AC, so it's "4" or nothing!

LOL, I have a 95, and the same problem, and the slider for the heat does not work either. Pulled my climate control out and swapped it in another chassis, worked. What should I look for? Is there a wiring diagram floating around for this shit?
