KA24 Engine build, JE pistons, Port and Polish, Full Race turbo manifold
Recently put a fresh engine into my S13, the stock KA24e had proven its worth after 6 years of boost at the track and on the streets but with an extra engine floating around why not throw something fresh in the car?
Basic engine build details: OEM crank OEM rods (vertical smoothing of all the casting marks) ACL bearings ARP head studs ARP main studs ARP rod bolts Port and Polish (gasket matched head/manifolds) JE forged pistons with (skirt coating) about 9:1 compression OEM valves Will also be doing a new cam and solid rocker arms shortly (hydrolic rocker arms failing above ~5300 rpm) Car is currently using a AEM EMS, ID1000cc injectors and Full Race manifold with a tiny t25 and 38mm tial waste gate. Thanks to the new injectors we will now be able to really push this turbo and see what kind of torque can be made with 20+ psi. An early graph after the first E tune revision, just need to lean things out a bit more and start adding boost. **please not the new graph was done in 4th gear VS 3rd gear** Last edited by tunermt; 01-12-2021 at 12:43 AM.. |

Everyone calls out the ka, whether or not they kwow it or not. I made over 300rwhp on the stock bottom end @14psi for over 30k w/ a td0620g. Tunermt last setup was a stock bottom end I [email protected] 14psi ran well & long. Fran(tunermt) brew-tuned my new setup @16psi and made 386 rwhp and 341rwtq with shity MT 91 octane. So the ka24 can hang with the sr20 if tuned right and built right!!!

You can make solid numbers with a ka. Here's a video of one we did. The tq. is the best part: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Tuning into this thread for this updated build. |

Don't recall the piston part # off the top of my head but they are the 12:1 compression pistons for the de ( translates over to something close to 9:1 maybe a bit higher with the sohc head I am using. )
As for the aem this car actually uses a v1 sorry the pic I posted is indeed a v2 unit. Both the v1 and v2 utilize the stock harness although the v2 must use the aem cas disc (i would recommend using the aem cas in the v1 units as well though) I've done my fair share of bothe v1 and v2 aem ems's and strongly recommend them for any tuning needs I know alot of people have questions about the aem ems, by almeans everyone feel free to hit me up with questions any time I am always happy to help out! |
