How is this going? I'm anxious to help with this. Lisa has my info and what I can do (hosting. server, not tour guide). Maybe we should get some forums set up soon so we can get into more detailed planning. I realize Spring of '010 is over a year away, but a centralized source other than this thread may help with planning on better detail. Maybe get some first round flyers made, etc. Start getting the word out more. =)
Hell, maybe even a fundraiser or something to cover costs of things (like renting a venue if needed). Would be cool to get a group buy for airfair (yea right) together. Maybe decide on locations for travelers coming in who want to caravan from certains area via party bus. I'm always bursting with random ideas for this.

This may have already been thought of, but in addition to magazines, i would also contact news crews as well.
There is lots of random stories on yahoo news, and sometimes of CBS as well. If someone could work that out, it would be free advertising for a certain car company. Which would be hard to turn down. Also has anyone looked into some of the more weal known drift champs that drive 240's coming out? What about companies who make parts, like Greddy america, apexi, etc.? |

Cool to help fund this are yall gone have like t-shirts, stickers, etc. That all the forums involved sell together? Ya know so there is a unity concept going on, vs each forum have its own stuff (zilvia vs nico)

I wonder how split up the meet will be. All the zilvia guys will be in one area, Nico in another, etc. I mean honestly there's so many people from Zilvia I'd want to walk around and meet, I doubt I'm going to go up to dudes I don't even know. I have an idea! How about we have 2010 Convention premie shirts made with our name son it? That way we can be like, "Oh future240! What's up!". Man this shit should be so much fun. Are we gonna have liquor? Like a lotta beer? I'm from WI so it's mandatory for me.

At the ZOMGBBQ that S13Teddy has put on, (2 of them). He makes the little name tags for everyone that has their screen name and their real name.
His ZOMGBBQ has involved both NICO and Zilvia members and been very successful for a 17 year old kid. First location was Griffith park here in Hollywood/LA and the second was all the way at the beach, just south of Huntington iirc. The Park had a better turn out, the beach is far. |

So-Cal (has to be to garner vendor support)
Track Side Venue Track Day Combination (ASB + Formula D Demo) VENDOR DRIVEN - Vendors Pay to set up booths Large Parking Lot location, so think Irwindale or Home Depot Center Fees need to go towards promotions through a professional promotions company, maybe the same that put together HIN, only the organizers will hold rights to content (ie = not HIN). That would be doing it right. It will end being a bunch of jerk offs in a park cooking hot dogs.

Aren't illiterate people supposed to be pinked for discussing alternate locations??
Vegas. LMAO !!! poor, broke 240 owners going to vegas, lmao!! And a casino hosting a bunch of shitty, beat up, $1,500.00, 90's sports cars. get real. "Breaking news, 73 import street racers arrested for DWI's in Vegas this weekend........" Plus most people coming to SoCal are saving money by staying with other forum members. |

Hehe, I know it's a little different, but I have my SN on the quarter-glass of my S13 for easy identification purposes.

It may be hard to get vendors to pay to be there, given that they may or may not make the money back from renting the booth.
And speaking on location, I'm from LA and I would say Vegas too, but there needs to be access to a track for one of the days and hotels in Vegas will most likely want to charge us to use space (which I expect to happen out here unless we get the hookup). Granted that we likely won't fall short on hotel space in vegas, I'm just not sure what's available track/venue wise for cars. Maybe someone who actually lives in Vegas can give us some more insight.

Patience. I don't think anything has been set in stone yet.

Well, I got Mel and his wife I believe. But if you are down for an Air mattress? Not sure about Phlip, don't know if he wants to crash at my pad?
Thats the plus with SoCal too. So many premies are here that no one needs to get a hotel if they dont want.(saves close to $500 for people.) Only problem is, you may need to rent a PT Cruiser cause half the 240's out here don't have back seats, lol. |

Even though I'm all the way up in Canada, I'm down for socal. No matter WHERE it is planned for, some people aren't gonna like it. A group just needs to be put in charge of picking a location and when it's picked it's done. That's where it is. End of story. Carpool etc. people. I won't need a rental car. If I come all the way down for this I'm bringing my Z. RHD on a long road trip FTW! lolz

I've been thinking about it and talking to my friends. I'd love for it to be more centrally located (kansas or something) buuuuut regardless of location, I'm gonna take like 1.5-2 weeks off work and bring my 240. Always wanted to do a cross country drive... this is a great excuse.
