250 shot of nitrous would do the trick and only cost you a few hundred bucks.

so you have a modded diesel...400hp in a 7000lb truck is different than 400hp in a 2600lb car.

you're right, there are so many combinations that can make that kind of power but changing the name or brand of a piston, bearing or a rod wont make the engine different. most engines are duplicates of one another. then the differences come from the choice of turbo and cams.

the power to weight ratio is important too. about 100 pounds is equivalent to about a 10hp gain. these are rough estimates. so by reducing your cars weight you can make it faster.

You're right. But 400hp in a 7.3l diesel is a tough mark to reach. The point was that I know what it takes to make power. This will be my first SR build and I don't want to run into any snags. I hate buying parts and then changing my mind when I find a better part. I like to do things right the first time.

Ya I understand that 400 horse in a 2600lb car is differant but thats beyond the point. My driving ability and ability to control my vehicle is not the question. My questions are what parts are needed to make the power, keep reliablity, and work well together.

My diesel makes 38psi. Thats typical on a diesel but I know high boost is a differant animal on a gas motor and can cause massive amounts of problems when not handled properly.

I just want suggestions for parts, information, reading material, product companies to deal with and numbers. Not BS.

You don't want to copy someone's setup, but you want to know what parts are needed to make this happen?
It HAS been done, it has been done and described, you should have no issue locating this information.
I am closing this before it gets ugly.
