ok, ibe been reading the forums for a while and lost my account, but i finally got a 240. It has a Ka24e in it which has 200k+ on it and i want to swap in another Ka24e with lower mileage. To do this, what will i need since im looking for the same engine?

You can't replace a ka with a ka.. it has to be something newer now.

You should be good to go for a simple E to E swap, although there may be slight wiring differences between early 89s and later 89s-90s. Some had Hitachi distributors, some Mitsubishi, etc. I don't know that the wiring for that is different - just something you should be wary of.

If you're not going to be helpful, be quiet. I'd prefer to keep the Tech arenas largely sacrosanct.

u should need tools, another sohc ka, use ur stock tranny, and u can just pull all the wiriring attahed to the motor off. and then pull all the vaccum lines, drain fluids, cherry picker and tools. then u should be set. just rember were each connector went when taking it off. it will probley only take a weekend to finish or 1 day if every thing is ready to go.
