Thanks man. Got the car to fire up a couple of days ago! sent my pcm off to the tuner to have a base map put on it. Ordered an abs delete kit as well to free up some room around the firewall and to get rid of that big bulky pump

lol I wasn't using it anyways. my tire ate through the abs harness a long time ago. not to mention I can't use the rear sensors with my dual brake caliper setup.

the car was stuuuuuupid loud straight piped (go figure) since it's a street car I decided to quieten it up a bit. Pretty happy with the results overall.

So much of your build and this thread reminds me of doing my widebody FD a few years ago haha, and seeing your fenders and Trash Talk sticker of course reminds me of Jaime's blue car.

I didn't see specs on the engine rebuild, but I'm guessing you milled some off the heads and kept the MS3, great LS1 cam. That BBK manifold is garbage though (flows just OK and heat soaks like mad, you're better off with a 2001-2002 F-body/LS6 manifold or a used FAST90/92 setup), and you need to get your intake out from behind those fans. I've got something like 5 LSx-swapped FD's at the shop at any given time and those are super typical problems that drop power after you've been driving a bit and generally suck.

Putting resonators in the blastpipes is awesome haha. I used to run a pair of the SLP 14" long 3" straight through resonators and the car was still too loud... now I've got more than double the power and run two of the Aero 3" bullet mufflers and it's way too loud to drive without earplugs for more than a lap around the block.

Dash mods are cool, exterior style is rad, really pumped to see this thing go together.

Thanks guys, overall I'm happy with how it sounds. I think the neighbors think it's still too loud, but fuck em lol.

Specs are rebuilt stock motor, ported and shimmed ls2 oil pump, all new bearings, re-ringed and honed, polished crank to clean it up a little. milled the block .010 just to clean up the deck some. Arp main studs, katach rod bolts, arp head bolts, commetic hg's Tsp prc stage 2.5 heads (the 5.3 ones) ms3, ported and polished bbk ssi, 92mm tb, and 85mm maf.

I agree that the bbk isn't the best intake in the world, but I got a good deal on it so I figured I'd run it over a stock ls1 intake. I'm also going to build an actual intake one of these days before I get the tune finalized. Probably going to pie cut some 3" stainless and run it under the headlight bucket.

Ended up deleting the cable hand brake mechanism on the hydro hand brake calipers. I'll still have my cable mechanism on the factory brakes so I can still use the factory hand brake to park the car or whatever. Hopefully they still work fine lol. I don't see why they wouldn't. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Back from the dead. I finally got my shit together and got the car running and stopping under it's own power today. Here's a couple of pictures of it out of the driveway for once.

once I get around to it yeah I'll build a skid plate for it. I'm having issues with my factory chassis harness right now. about to rip everything out of it and just rewire the whole car.

Back from the dead. a friend and myself rewired the chassis and it's up and going again. here's a few pictures.

Here's the finalized engine harness panel.

as you can see, we went with breakers instead of fuses and used gm weather pack connectors to make the panel somewhat easy to remove for maintenance or any other need. As far as the body harness goes we still have a lot of work but it's roughly wired. Everything works and I can drive it but we need to go back and finalize everything and make a panel similar to the engine side.

got the steering components all sorted out and whatnot. Got the car to finally align right and was able to get 6.5* of camber out of it.

also another friend and myself painted the car. prepped it, blocked it, primed it and sprayed it all in roughly 8 hours. Since we were busy trying to get it knocked out I didn't snag very many pictures of the car while prepping/painting it.

End result.

Got an alignment and stuff.

then drove the car, with realitively no run time on it up to TN/NC to deals gap for DGRR.

and this is how it sits now.

overall, I'm very happy with how the car acted. There's a few things I need to go back and fix/change but for the most part it's pretty solid. I still have to get the car caged but for now I'm going to enjoy it and drive it some for a change. It's been down nearly 3 1/2 years total so I'm itching to put some miles on it again.

Back from the dead again.

Drove the car around and worked more minor bugs out and then went ahead and installed my two way and built a custom cradle/brace as well for the diff.

Pressed out the old worn diff bushings and replaced them with sikky solid bushings.

the beginnings of the cradle. I wanted to support as much of the casing as possible since fd casings are known for splitting. I also brought the cradle up where it braced the diff mount its self in the narrowest point to help prevent it from breaking in the future.

Finished product (for now) still gotta go back and add beefier arms to actually brace it to the chassis but in the mean time I'm just using my current aftermarket brace.

It seems to be working. I've been pretty hard on the car and it hasn't broke yet lol. I'm also running drive shaft shop axles now so hopefully I won't break anymore axles.

apart from building the diff I haven't made too many changes to the car lately. I did buy a set of adjustable trailing arms so now I will have fully adjustable rear camber.

Here's a few shots of the car as it sits from the past couple of months. I don't have many pics of how the car looks since it's been painted on here yet.

Still haven't had the time or money to go to an event and really shake down the car yet. There's an event coming up next month I may try to make it to just to see how the car does.

The next big plan for the car in the near future is to start on the cage.
