finally bought my first 240

hello,
first time poster, long time zilvia creeper. I finally bought my first one, 89 240 with ls1/6 speed. drove from Pittsburgh pa to Birmingham Alabama to get it. just got it home and having and exhaust made as well as getting it inspected.

a shop built it for a guy who was having it done for his kid, but the kid screwed up and the shop sold it for him, to me lol

receipts for motor/trans with vin/mileage
fueled racing deluxe swap kit
cx racing coils
cobra rims
hot cam

the car is 90% done, it runs and drives nice. BUT.. it has no gauges yet and exhaust wasn't done(currently having it done by reputable exhaust guy.

was curious what would be my best bet, wire in the stock gauges and but a converter for speedo and tach or just get a racepak?
or is there some other way to do it cheaper and more effective

thanks

Racepak is expensive, I would buy a digital converter and do it that way if you're going to do it. Then again it all depends on your funds, what you want, etc.

congrats on the buy and don't ever get rid of it because you'll want another right away. Haha

Good luck brotha

thanks for the reply, I seen em for 650 on ebay so that's not much more than the $250 I need for the converter and the $70 for tach adjuster plus the other gauges... so I dunno. ill probably buy the racepak, and it took me 10 years to get this one so selling it is not an option. ill be buried in it haha

No problem!

And yes racepak is $650 on ebay, but dakota also has a system similar to racepak available for about $500 shipped on ebay. It includes all the senders necessary to make it work also.

I've also heard the screen on the racepak seems small when installed. But that just depends on the person mostly. It's about 7.3"x2.7"

Eitger of these two methods you stated are the most successful for a Ls1-240sx in my opinion.

I wasn't looking for thanks. Just showing you the appropriate threads to introduce yourself & ask small questions. Making threads like this junk up the forum and typically get locked really quick. Learning to use this forum correctly will save you some frustrastion.
