O.D. off light ?

Have a 95 240sx with auto trans.
The last several days whenever I start the car the Overdrive off light above the check engine light flashes for about 5 to 10 seconds then goes out, I have owned the car for about 9 years and it's never done this before,I have noticed it seems to shift a little harder between gears!!
Is the flashing light possibly some sort of warning to change the Trans. filter?

not to change fluid, but most likely either low fluid or some other fault... i believe the fsm has error codes depending on number of flashes.

amazing, no matter what i did to my sohc auto i never received any warning signals from the OD light. i guess that transmission really did love me. and to think, i threw it away for a 5-speed........................... haha

Turns out it wasn’t a trans. problem at all!!
I have been having trouble with my factory alarm going off for no reason and had read about the sensor under the hood, I unplugged the one on the right that the hood depresses and I noticed a box on the left close to the air cleaner and thought it was a shock sensor and unplugged it, turns out that what I unplugged was the Revolution Sensor Dropping Resistor, plugged it back in and now the car shifts fine and my alarm doesn't go off
